Web browsing has been very common with the evolution of internet.Users exploit it increasingly and intensively for achieving goals, using social networks, playing games, reading news and articles, sending emails, shopping online, watching videos and searching queries. To access such contents they use web browsers, which may vary in implementation and user interfaces but have the same core functionalities. All famous modern browsers have the functionality of logging the browsing records of the users which is called as browsing history.Due its simple interface only a few people use to re-visit previously visited websites using history listing. With the advancement of technology and higher accessibility of internet web browsing is increasing exponentially which is making the browsing patterns more complex. The traditional history tools have become insufficient for satisfying their purpose to address these complexities.Graphical interfaces are the key solutions for such for pattern detection. Therefore visualizing the browsing histories in an interactive way might be helpful in this case.In this study we propose a novel approach for visualizing the browsing history data;we named this system BHVis(Browsing Habits Visualization)which visualizes user's web visits to make the browsing habits explicable. The main goal of this system is enabling the user to gain insight into his browsing patterns and enable self-analyses and self-improvement.BHVis system offers some novel visual designs in shape of timelines and charts for better visualization of web browsing history data. The visual designs are interactive and connected to each other which make the data insight and information gaining simpler. We categorized the websites. To evaluate the effectiveness of our system we provided a report page for a specific group of users containing well designed content. This report page focuses on three core factors of behaviour analysis, web usage,productivity/work habits, web using times/ usage habits. We also conducted a quantitative data analysis study to validate the importance of these factors based on browsing history data of some selected volunteer participants. The results of data analysis show that BHVis is an effective system for visual analysis of browsing history data.
