U can U BiBi,as a pioneer of internet Varity show,keeps growing to be a popular show.With features of its abundant content and some elements of monologue comic talk,it shows great visual and aural characteristics which differentiates it from traditional talk show.Knowledge,entertainment and multi culture society values are advocated through talking,debating and speeches of this show.It all depends the control of talking that you hope to attract audience using words.Discourse analysis is an interdisciplinary subject that spans multiple disciplines and is applied to many aspects of our lives and to analyzing the meaning of words.This article aims at analyzing features and meaning production of talking by MaXiaoKang from this show from two perspectives which are narrative discourse and interactional discourse.Theories used include Discourse Analysis Theory,Communication,Semiology and Rhetoric.U can U BiBi,the first internet variety talk show in China,is a production of MaDong Studio which firstly was broadcast on iQiyi.It became popular and top search immediately and attracted attention and discussion.By collecting 45 episodes of MaXiaoKang host discourses from season one and season three as samples,this essay tries to analyze the discourse with focus on MaXiaoKang 's talking in the show.Part one gives a background introduction of the show and Literature Review on Discourse Analysis research.Part two and three are main bodies of this paper which mainly discuss narrative discourse and interactional discourse.Discourse style means the whole style of a show which varies on wording and expression.Discussions and talking of MaXiaoKang mainly happen during interaction and narration,and these are transferred to texts which are used to summarize MaXiaoKang style,hence analyze the whole style of this show.Contents of the show are referred to discover the highlights and features.Meanwhile,many rhetorical strategies are used instead of straightforward expression.Storytelling,emotion expression and good selection of words,etc.are all used to make the whole program more lively and interesting,which meets the requirements of entertainment industry.Roles and context are often exchanged by the three persons in the show and different ways of expression are used as well.With the development and upgrading of the technology,the show tries to incorporate more elements.Author also tries to analyze and summarize the interactional discourse from three aspects which are discourse power,turn talking and specific interactive contents.Part four gives a summary for this show.As a talk show,discourse style and features are main part for this show.This part aims at analyzing and summarizing the peculiarity of this show.A conclusion on the media discourse feature of this show which is a pioneer in this field is also given from media discourse perspective.Moreover,internet variety show prospect and tendency can be predicted when it is put in the current media environment after learning from various aspects of U can U BiBi show.
