Plasma antenna is an antenna using plasma instead of traditional metal to receive and send electromagnetic wave.Compared to metal antenna,plasma antenna has numerous advantages such as better invisibility and reconfiguration,and lower coupling.As a result,huge potential applications of plasma antenna have been found in both military and civilian.In particular,flexible plasma antenna can effectively increase the flexibility of an antenna system,overcoming the drawbacks of traditional plasma antenna,such as weak strength and fragile performance.Meanwhile,by transforming the shape of the antenna and the state of gas discharge,the antenna radiation characteristics can be changed and the reconfigurable adjustment range can be enlarged.Therefore,both theoretical significance and practical value are essential of studying flexible plasma antenna.This work in this thesis analyzed the radiation characteristics of surface wave driven flexible plasma antenna.In detail,it has been,researched that radiation characteristics of the flexible plasma helix antenna and array radiation characteristics in high frequency band based on the result of low frequency.Main works are including:First of all,according to the basic theory of antenna and plasma,the basic radiation characteristics are analyzed by simulating two flexible antennas— the U-shaped and the helix antenna,as well as the effects of plasma parameters on the performances of antenna.Secondly,considering the lower directionality and gain comparing with metal antenna flexible and plasma helix antenna,the shape of its contacting surface are changed to improve the radiation performance.In addition,the effect of the cavity shape,angle and height on the performance of antenna is researched in order to get the optimized antenna structure.Finally,a flexible helix plasma antenna structure working at 95 GHz to 105 GHz is proposed based on the above conclusion.Furthermore,its performances and influence factors are considered.And then a helix antenna array which has very low mutual coupling is designed,simulation analysis proves that it can greatly improve the gain and radiation efficiency.
