Information technology has a great influence on special education,which is an important part of national education system.Modern information technology has been widely used in the curriculum system of life adaptability education for special teenagers.In the Curriculum Standard for Compulsory Education of Schools for the Mentally Retarded issued in 2016,the basis of life adaptation curriculum is clarified.In order to help the mentally retarded children master the necessary skills in life so that they can adapt to the current and future needs of life,W Special Education School in Chengdu has tried to develop the "food and agriculture education" course in the life adaptation curriculum.However,various problems arise in the process of practice.This study aims to explore the role and effect of micro-class in improving the quality of teaching and improving the life adaptability of mentally retarded students by studying the design and application of micro-class of "food and agriculture education".In this study,the students of Grade 8 in the department for the mentally retarded of W Special Education School in Chengdu are taken as the research samples,the objectives,contents and evaluation methods of the micro-class of "food and agriculture education" are gradually discussed based on the analysis of the current situation,problems and learning ability of the students in the school's life adaptation curriculum of "food and agriculture education",so that 16 micro-classes of the life adaptation curriculum of "food and agriculture education" that can be used in the class are designed.After the micro-class was designed,themicro-class was applied by the researcher for one academic year in the Grade 8 of the department for the mentally retarded.According to the research,the students in the sample class have improved their learning attitude,the skill to master knowledge,and the ability to solve practical problems in life.In this study,based on the overall evaluation of teachers,parents and researchers on the implementation effect of micro-class of "food and agriculture education",the following conclusions are drawn: if the micro-class of "food and agriculture education" is applied in teaching,the quality of life of mentally retarded students can be improved,the ability of parents of mentally retarded children to carry out family education can be improved,the professional growth of teachers for the mentally retarded can be promoted,and mentally retarded students' understanding of the relationship between nature and human beings can be enriched.In this study,the following suggestions are given: first of all,innovative education and teaching methods should be paid attention to,and the training of teachers in the school for mentally retarded on the design and production of the micro-class should be strengthened;Moreover,the positive impact of "food and agriculture education" on mentally retarded students should be paid attention to,and the resource bank of the micro-class of "food and agriculture education" should be established;At the same time,the social resources of "food and agriculture education" should be expanded according to the life characteristics of mentally retarded students.
