As a creator and disseminator of advanced knowledge, university teachers play a vital role in higher education activities. As far as individuals are concerned, their personal ethics and morality affect the quality of students. As a whole, the collective ethics and morality of university teachers determine the development quality of higher education. Therefore,in the face of the country's large demand for innovative high-level talents,in addition to focusing on improving teachers 'professional knowledge, universities must also strengthen teachers' professional ethics. However, the current alienation evaluation system and standardization under the guidance of instrumental rationality, the strict barriers to social division of labor under the background of specialization, and the modern competition oriented on the survival of the fittest and the survival of the fittest have made university teachers 'ethical and moral responsibilities weaker.Moral anomie, plagiarism, fraud research and other academic anomie happen frequently. This study starts from Weber's classic exposition, and aims to explore the specific content of university teachers' professional ethics under its visual threshold, with a view to inspiring the professional development of Chinese teachers in the process of modernization. This article is divided into three parts. The first part is the background of the formation of the professional ethics of college teachers from the perspective of Weber. From the end of the 19 th century to the beginning of the 20 th century,a stable political structure and a prosperous national economy provided excellent opportunities for the prosperity and development of German universities.A huge crisis.During this period, the professional ethics of German university teachers mainly faced the crises of limited personnel autonomy, bureaucratization of the administrative system and intensified internal discipline differentiation. The second part contains the second, third, and fourth chapters of the main text, which summarize the basic content of college teachers' professional ethics in Weber's perspective.Weber believes that as a university teacher,it is the professional ethics of academics to take academics as aprofession,to balance academic freedom and responsibility in daily teaching and research activities, and to always uphold the principle of value neutrality. To be specific, the essence of academic as a career is a concept of "duty",which often manifests as teachers' religious zeal, willingness to loneliness, peace of mind, and voluntary sacrifices. It has the value of prescient science, affirming that "It's worth being known".Reconciling academic freedom and responsibility means that university teachers must enjoy corresponding education responsibilities and moral obligations while enjoying the freedom of university autonomy, speech and career choice.Among them,Weber's concept of academic freedom returns to the Humboldt era Characteristics.Value neutrality is a normative principle proposed by Weber to protect academic freedom and maintain scientific objectivity. It requires teachers to clarify value judgments and facts,to maintain value correlation outside science, but to exclude all subjective values in science. In daily teaching activities,it is embodied as a kind of ascetic thought in the pulpit. The third part is the evaluation of college teachers' professional ethics in Weber's perspective.Through analysis,Weber's professional ethics of university teachers is essentially an inheritance and development of the classical German university view.Although these series of discussions are classic, there are also dual attitudes such as a bureaucratic academic system and the concept of academic freedom. And the omission of value-neutral thought.
