In 2001,a new round of curriculum reform of basic education kicked off the curriculum reform in primary school.The discipline "Nature" was changed to "Science".Since then,primary school science curriculum has stepped on the historical stage of education in China.For more than a decade after that,the reform of primary school science curriculum is in full swing.Curriculum standards,curriculum content,curriculum nature and curriculum evaluation have undergone profound changes.In2017,the Ministry of Education issued a notice on printing and distributing the Science Curriculum Standards for Primary Schools of Compulsory Education,stipulating that the primary school shall start to offer science courses from the first grade,and proposing that science is a comprehensive inquiry course.Therefore,the inquiry-based nature of science courses puts forward high requirements for students' various abilities,including students' language expression ability.Language expression is a way for people to communicate emotions and discuss thoughts.Language expression ability is a necessary skill for people's survival and the expression of people's thinking,reflecting a person's thinking ability.Primary school is an important stage of the development of students' language expression ability,so one of the important tasks of primary school science curriculum is to cultivate students' language expression ability.However,through teaching students outside school and consulting literature,I found that the language expression ability of primary school students is generally low due to the influence of various factors,and there are still some deficiencies in the research of "cultivating students' language expression ability in science curriculum teaching" at home and abroad,so it is necessary to analyze this problem carefully and put forwardsome measures to change this situation.This study includes three parts.First,I would point out the necessity and importance of cultivating the primary school students' language expression ability in the science curriculum teaching of primary school by interpreting the Science Curriculum Standards for Primary Schools of Compulsory Education,analyzing the sixth grade science textbook of Educational Science Publishing House,reading the related books of language expression ability and primary school science curriculum.Secondly,I investigated the language expression ability of the sixth grade students in a primary school in Deyang City,Sichuan Province,and analyzed the reasons for the students' language expression problems by developing the research tools,including “questionnaires and observation records”.At last,through analyzing the cases of high-quality science course in primary schools,I summarized the strategies of improving students' language expression ability in science teaching,and executed teaching practice in the studied class.
