Discipline education is an important way of moral education and an indispensable part of school education,whose purpose is to cultivate students' ability of self-management and establish moral autonomy.The main value orientation of discipline education is to educate people rather than to manage them.This study conducted in-depth interviews with seven primary school teachers and five students on the teachers' cognition and methods of discipline education.It was found that most teachers considered discipline education as a coping one that actions emerge after problems.Teachers pay more attention to the discipline education's managerial function that results the deficiency of educational function and some teachers are so irresponsible that they only care students' performance on class.The study also find there are some shortcomings in the teacher's behavior,such as putting students on passive position and using the behaviorism's teaching methods.On the opinion of teachers,the reasons of students' disciplinary problems are lack of abilities of self-control and awareness of rules as well as personal attention.Besides,the temperament and habit and effects of peers and deficiencies of learning interesting will bring about discipline problems.Teachers' main methods are invisible reminder and reward and punishment and persuasion and education as well as public treatment.In addition,teachers are facing difficulties and challenges in disciplined education,including inconsistencies between home-school and whole class' s discipline problems and inadequate methods and lack of sufficient time and energy to conduct disciplined education.Based on the found problems,there are relevant suggestions: Firstly,we should put the importance on educating people and encourage students rather than reward them and clarify the scope of discipline education is from prevention to response and value students' discipline problems and take students' needs seriously and improve teacher's own teaching level and personal accomplishment.Secondly,let students take part in the formulation of rules and help students to form conscious discipline sense according to the primacy effect.Be calmly and leave the space for Self-reflection when problems occur,then actively seek the causes of disciplinary problems and help students to build their own experience.Besides,teachers should play the importance of students peer and form a good cooperative mechanism with parents.It is hoped that these suggestions can give primary school teachers some reference and inspiration to correctly conduct discipline education,and can achieve the real educational purpose that is the cultivation of students' self-management ability and moral autonomy.
