A Study On The Sexual Values Of Contemporary College Students

Objective:To understand the current situation of contemporary college students' sexual attitudes,explore the main influencing factors,and put forward some educational countermeasures helping college students establish correct sexual values.Methods:With the help of the "questionnaire star" internet platform,we uploaded our own-designed questionnaire of "College Students Sexual Values " to QQ and WeChat groups of randomly-selected classes or grades in Soochow University and Zhenjiang College.The obtained data was analyzed.Results:1.The sexual values of contemporary college students are generally healthy,rational,open,inclusive and diverse,they are eager to get education on sexual physiology,sexual psychology,sexual cultures,and prevention of sexual transmitted diseases.2.College students showed significant gender differences on sexual basic knowledge(such as the understanding of sexual physical structure,judgment of sexual behavior),responses on sexual sensitive issues(such as virgin complex and premarital sex),and sexual culture(such as how to think about homosexuality / bisexual,how to think about exhibitionism and other sexual psychological disorder).Male college students showed a bolder,tolerant attitude to sex,while female college students were relatively cautious,conservative.3.After receiving sexual education,college students became more rational,healthy and scientific on the aspects of sexual impulse treatment,effective contraception and access to sexual knowledge.Conclusion:1.The sexual values of modern college students are generally healthy,rational,open,inclusive and diverse.2.The main factors that influence sexual values of modern college students include gender and sexual education degree.3.Strengthening college sexual education is helpful for the establishment of a scientific,healthy and civilized sexual concept that conforms to China's national conditions.
