The spatial narrative research on ancient Chinese novels has began as early as the Ming and Qing Dynasties.In her article of The Study of Narrative Concepts in Ming and Qing Dynasties Novels,Zhang Shijun pointed out clearly : “The comments of Ming and Qing novels do not only pay attention to the time,but also to the space.Views of space narrative coexisted with the point of time narrative in Ming and Qing novel critique.”Talking about spatial narrative,in ancient Chinese novels,it is hard to say that there is such a kind of novel,which has a rich and far-reaching space environment like magical novel.However,the current researches neglect the spatial characteristics and pay more attention to such studies: version,author,theme,source and characters research,etc.This thesis takes the female spatial narrative in the Ming Dynasty's magical novels as the research object,reinterprets the works with the authors' life experience and historical background to sort out the female spatial narrative of the Ming Dynasty's magical novels.What's more,this thesis also analyzes the positive spatial exploration of women,as well as the female space narrative discourse of the Ming and Qing Dynasties novels.Based on those factors,this thesis explores the significance of the female space narrative of the Ming Dynasty.Introduction part mainly discusses the study of history,Present Situation and the latest development of the gods and demon novels in Ming Dynasty,sorts out the staged achievements and characteristics of these studies to points out the shortcomings of the research,briefly expounds the research purpose,significance and ideas of this paper.The body part is divided into three chapters.The first chapter mainly summarizes the female space narratives of the Novels of Gods and Spirits in Ming Dynasty.According to the content displayed in the text,in this paper,we mainly discuss the female space narratives from three aspects: geospatial,psychological space and body space.The second chapter mainly explains the expansion space of women in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.By means of analyzing the spatial reality of anxiety and distress expressedby women in the novel,this paper explores exploration and practice of space of women,from the positive and negative aspects.The third chapter mainly analyzes the discourse of female space narrative in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.This part carries out mainly from three aspects: discourse subject,historical background and narrative form.The conclusion part mainly summarizes the main points of the whole thesis,and analyzes the significance of the female space narrative in the Ming Dynasty.
