Research On Gombrich's Style Writing Method In His Art History

Sir Ernst Gombrich is one of the most famous art historians in the field of art history in the 20 th century,he interpret a concept in his book story of art that "there really is no such thing as art,there are only artists" by a concise and popular way.And this concept is trying to help readers who are interested in art that can have a more appreciate understanding toward the art.The story of art is the book that about the development of art include its past,present and future,which include the summary of experience about artistic thought and artistic conception of Gombrich.It is an important research with rare materials for the art researchers.Gombrich consider that only creator who is the key of transformation of art style.And it contains the deep insights about all the culture of Renaissance,consciousness psychology,especially China's modern reform and opening up of the general art participates that all admire in his clear,simple with little abstract vague and do not break the rational style of writing history of governance.This research on Gombrich's style writing method of the story of art is from the perspective of artistic style and iconology as well as formalism aesthetics to understand the method that Gombrich ever used in writing story of art.The first part illustrates the background and signifiance of research on Gombrich's style writing method in his art history –take story of art as an example.The second part mainly introduces the origin of art style and some conceptions about it both at home and abroad,on one hand,there is a part of domestic works of Gombrich and his historical style with the application in story of art,which is praise highly of artistic style of Gombrich;This paper argues whether the style writing method of Gombrich in the story of the art contributes to the development of art history.The third part illustrates the significance of iconology that Gombrich ever used in story of art and the thinking caused by excessive interpretation.The forth part mainly take story of art as an example in several important time nodes combining Gombrich art history from the perspective of form of artwork that Gombrich apply of research methods,for example,Barcoo and Rococo style.The fifth part discusses form aesthetics style that Gombrich ever used for the story of art study include the effect and value of form and Post-Impressionism by using formalism aesthetics.The sixth part conclude the restriction of some of the ideas in story of art to understand the contribution and confine both in Gombrich's style writing according to formalism aesthetics.
