A round WWII,a large number of European intellectuals flocked to the United States.European artists have subsequently spread the ideas and achievements of modern art to the other side of the oceans and rejuvenated them in the soil of the United States, thus forming a typical modern avant-garde art in the United States and finally realizing the transformative movement of the art world from Europe to the United States. This article attempts to examine this historical process. However, the spread and localization of European modernist art in the United States is a complicated and broad proposition. Therefore, this essay selects the transmission clue from Bauhaus in Europe(closed in 1933)to Montenegro Institute(founded in 1933)in the United States as the object of study, and defines clearly the propagation of European modernism in terms of time range and route.Let the research proposition be concrete. In the course of centralization of the modern art world in the United States, the role of Montenegro College cannot be underestimated. Some people even think that Montenegrin College has a near-myth position in the history of American modern art.Because, this article can also be seen as a case study of a Montenegrin Institute under the background of the broad art history of European Art of Modern Europe.
