The Development Of Japan's Public Diplomacy After The Cold War

The Cold War has had a profound impact on Japanese public diplomacy.In the background of the US-Soviet confrontation,Japan,as a member of the Western camp,has achieved considerable development both in politically and economically.The trend of globalization and the multipolarized political landscape that have become increasingly apparent after the Cold War have also provided an enabling environment for Japan to carry out public diplomacy.After the end of the Cold War,Japan's public diplomacy also expanded and improved its implementation channels and content according to changes in Japanese policy.Japan has established a relatively mature operating system,and has created a favorable public opinion environment in the international community.This paper studies the development characteristics of Japan's diplomacy during this period and its role in promoting Japan's foreign policy by studying the development of Japan's public diplomacy from 1991 to 2016.At the same time,by collating and analyzing data from international polls in recent years,the effectiveness and problems of public diplomacy in Japan have been summarized.The introductory part of this article mainly discusses the status quo of research and related concepts of public diplomacy.The main contents of Chapter 1 include the historical time as a clue to the history of the development of public diplomacy in Japan,and the end of the Cold War as an important time node for Japanese public diplomacy.The analysis of the historical process will introduce the development of the Japanese public diplomacy after the Cold War,divide the three stages of the development of public diplomacy in Japan after the Cold War,and finally analyze and introduce the status quo of the Japan's public diplomacy.The second chapter mainly discusses the main ways for Japan to expand public diplomacy after the Cold War,and analyzes specific cases.In the selection of examples,this article chooses the typical examples of Japan's public diplomacy after the Cold War and the representative examples of innovation and perfection after the Cold War.Through the study of the above two cases,objectively and vividly demonstrated the development process and work effectiveness of Japan's public diplomacy after the Cold War.The third chapter mainly analyzes the research reports published by the Japanese foreign ministry commissioned by various international research institutions and the data published by Pew and other research institutes,Exploring the enlightenment to our country and the countermeasures we should take.
