Background:Estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)and proteinuria for prediction of arteriosclerosis is controversial. This article aimed to assess the association between proteinuria or eGFR and arteriosclerosis in Chinese adults hypertension under treatment.Method:This cross-sectional study included 10537 adults aged 45 to 75 years who participated in China Stroke Primary Prevention Trail. The eGFR was calculated using the creatinine-based chronic kidney Disease Epidemiology equation.Proteinuria was assessed by qualitative dipstick urinalysis and by the quantitative albumin-creatinine ratio(ACR).Use the Brachial-ankle pulse wave conduction velocity as a arterial stiffness relevant indicators.Linear regression analysis was used to examine the association between proteinuria or reduce eGFR with ba-PWV.Logistic regression analysis was used to examine the effects of proteinuria and reduce eGFR on the risk of arteriosclerosis. Results:Compared to participants without proteinuria,a significantly higher baPWV levels(β=0.57m/s;P value<0.001)and higher risk of arterial stiffness(OR=1.42;P value<0.001)were founded in those with proteinuria trace by dipstick, and more higher baPWV levels(β=0.68m/s;P value<0.001)and higher risk of arterial stiffness(OR=1.53;P value<0.001)were founded in those with proteinuria“+or more”,and a significantly higher baPWV levels(β=0.72;P value<0.001)and higher risk of arterial stiffness(OR=1.89;P value<0.001)in those with ACR≥30mg/g compared with participants with ACR<30mg/g,and the higher the ACR,the stronger the correlation. There was non-significantly association between baPWV levels(β=-0.08;P value is 0.597)or arterial stiffness(OR=0.96;P value is 0.792)and eGFR<60mL/min/1.73m~2 vs.eGFR≥60mL/min/1.73m~2.And combined analyses with proteinuria,eGFR was not significantly associated with arterial stiffness. Conclusion:Proteinuria but not reduced eGFR was associated with a higher baPWV level and risk of arterial stiffness in Chinese hypertension, the maybe provide new thinking about the mechanism of arteriosclerosis and leading to Cardiovascular Disease in people with Chronic Kidney Disease.
