Clinical Study Of CT-guided Radioactive ¹²⁵I Seeds Implantation For Pelvic Metastatic Tumors

Objective:To investigate the short-term efficacy and safety of CT-guided¹²⁵I seeds interstitial implantation for pelvic metastatic tumors.Methods:Date of 51 patients who received CT-guided¹²⁵I seeds interstitial implantation from June 2013 to June 2018 were retrospectively reviewed.CT examination was performed 2 months after operation to observe local tumor control rate（RECIST standard）.Follow-ups were carried out at 1week,2 months,and 6 months after operation,and the Karnofsky Physical Status Score（KPS）,Visual Analogue Scale（VAS）were measured before and after operation.At the same time,the patient’s postoperative complications were observed.Results:All patients were successfully operated without particle displacement.Two patients had local skin ulceration within 2 weeks after operation,9 had small amount of local bleeding after needle extraction but no longer observed after local compression.The KPS scores at 1 week,2 months,and 6 months after ¹²⁵I seed implantation increased from（38.0±11.9）to（52.6±15.0）,（54.3±13.4）and（57.6±12.5）respectively（P<0.05）.The VAS scores at 1 week,2 months,and 6 months after ¹²⁵I seeds implantation decreased from（7.1±1.7）to（4.7±1.4）,（3.4±0.9）,and（3.3±1.0）respectively（P<0.05）.Overall survival was 14.00 month.A total of 65 evaluable lesions with local tumor control rate（CR+PR+SD/total）was 93.8%.Conclusion:CT-guided radioactive ¹²⁵I seeds implantation for the treatment of pelvic metastatic tumors improves the functional status,relieves the patient’s cancer pain,effectively control the tumor progression without causing serious complications,and have less short-term adverse reactions related to treatment.
