Objective:To investigate the short-term efficacy and safety of CT-guided125I seeds interstitial implantation for pelvic metastatic tumors. Methods:Date of 51 patients who received CT-guided125I seeds interstitial implantation from June 2013 to June 2018 were retrospectively reviewed.CT examination was performed 2 months after operation to observe local tumor control rate(RECIST standard).Follow-ups were carried out at 1week,2 months, and 6 months after operation, and the Karnofsky Physical Status Score(KPS),Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)were measured before and after operation. At the same time, the patient’s postoperative complications were observed. Results:All patients were successfully operated without particle displacement. Two patients had local skin ulceration within 2 weeks after operation,9 had small amount of local bleeding after needle extraction but no longer observed after local compression. The KPS scores at 1 week,2 months, and 6 months after 125I seed implantation increased from(38.0±11.9)to(52.6±15.0),(54.3±13.4)and(57.6±12.5)respectively(P<0.05).The VAS scores at 1 week,2 months, and 6 months after 125I seeds implantation decreased from(7.1±1.7)to(4.7±1.4),(3.4±0.9),and(3.3±1.0)respectively(P<0.05).Overall survival was 14.00 month.A total of 65 evaluable lesions with local tumor control rate(CR+PR+SD/total)was 93.8%.Conclusion:CT-guided radioactive 125I seeds implantation for the treatment of pelvic metastatic tumors improves the functional status, relieves the patient’s cancer pain, effectively control the tumor progression without causing serious complications, and have less short-term adverse reactions related to treatment.
