Objective(1)To confirm the level of monocyte to high-density lipoprotein ratio(MHR)in patients with metabolic syndrome is elevated.(2)To investigate the relationship between components of metabolic syndrome and MHR.(3)To investigate the relationship between MHR and target organ damage in patients with metabolic syndrome. Methods 75 patients with metabolic syndrome(MS),84 patients with metabolic syndrome combined with hypertension(HMS)and 76 healthy control who were admitted to the hospital from October 2018 to March 2019 were enrolled in the study. The general conditions of height, weight, abdominal circumference,BMI and blood pressure were recorded in all subjects. The levels of peripheral monocyte absolute value, fasing plasma glucose(FPG),creatinine(Scr),Uric Acid(UA),triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)were detected in three groups. All subjects received carotid ultrasonography and cardiac color Doppler ultrasound to obtain relevant parameters:intima-media thickness(IMT),Left Ventricular Diastolic diameter(LVDd),interventricular septal end-diastolic thickness(IVST),left ventricular posterior wall end-diastolic thickness(LVPWT)and ejection fraction(EF).Monocyte/high-density lipoprotein ratio(MHR),glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)and Left ventricular mass index(LVMI)were calculated.Results(1)The level of MHR and Monocyte in MS and HMS groups were significantly higher than those of the control group, while HDL-C was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).MHR and Monocyte in the HMS group were further than those of the MS(P<0.05).(2)Correlation analysis showed that MHR was positively correlated with BMI,SBP,DBP,TG,FPG and negatively correlated with HDL-C(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis of MHR results showed that FPG and DBP were positively correlated with MHR,HDL-C was negatively correlated with MHR(P<0.05).(3)Correlation analysis showed that MHR was positively correlated with LVDd,LVMI,IMT and Scr,and negatively correlated with EF and eGFR in patients with metabolic syndrome(P<0.05).(4)Logistic regression analysis results of LVMI,eGFR and IMT showed that LVMI was positively correlated with MHR and SBP(P<0.05);eGFR was negatively correlated with MHR and SBP(P<0.05);IMT was positively correlated with MHR,SBP and TG(P<0.05).Conclusion(1)The level of MHR is elevated in patients with MS.(2)The level of MHR is closely related to FPG,DBP and HDL-C in patients with metabolic syndrome.(3)The level of MHR in patients with MS is closely correlated to left ventricular hypertrophy, glomerular rate reduction, and carotid medial thickening.
