Progresses In Magnetic Resonance Imaging Of Cognitive Impairments Associated With Essential Tremor

Essential tremor(ET)is one of the most common movement disorders originated from the central nervous system in clinic.In addition to tremor and other motor symptoms,patients can also display cognitive impairments and other series of non-motor symptoms,seriously affecting their ability to learn,work and live.However,at present,due to the low autopsy rate,the pathogenesis of ET motor and non-motor disorders is still not very clear.With advantages in noninvasive examination,biopsy and high spatial resolution and time resolution,magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)has become more widely used in the study of central pathogenesis of cognitive impairments associated with ET.This article reviewed the latest progresses of cognitive impairments associated with ET in the field of structural MRI(sMRI)and functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI).
