Prevalence Of Obesity Among 3199 Children And Adolescents Aged 7 ~18 Years In Tangshan City | Posted on:2021-01-17 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | Country:China | Candidate:Y M Kou | Full Text:PDF | GTID:2404330614955350 | Subject:Academy of Pediatrics | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | Objectives The prevalence of general and abdominal overweight or obesity among 3199 children aged 7~18 years in Tangshan city was analyzed by using different diagnostic standards of BMI and WC / WHt R.To evaluate the consistency of different screening diagnostic criteria for overweight and obesity in 3,199 children and adolescents aged 7 to18 in Tangshan.Advantages of combined screening criteria for systemic and abdominal obesity in 3,199 children and adolescents aged 7-18 in Tangshan.Methods According to the current situation survey,the children and adolescents aged7~18 years selected 2 primary schools,2 junior secondary schools and 2 senior secondary schools in different areas of the city at medium economic level primary schools,2 junior high schools,2 senior high schools in districts with different urban median economic levels and 2 primary schools,2 junior high schools and 2 senior high schools in counties and districts with different rural median economic levels were selected by multi-stage cluster random sampling method.The body height,weight and waist circumference were measured,and a database was established with 3199 valid samples.SPSS was used for statistical analysis.The height,weight and waist circumference of the measurement data were expressed in?x±s.The detection rate of overweight and obesity was expressed by percentile,and the comparison of overweight and obesity rates measured by different standards was carried out by chi-square test.Kappa values and their 95% confidence intervals(95% CI)were calculated to compare the consistency of overweight and obesity rates between different standards and different methods.P<0.05 was statistically significant.Results 1 Incidence of overweight and obesity:The overall overweight and obesity rate of 3199 children and adolescents aged 7~18 years old in Tangshan was 29.1% according to BMI-China standard and 27.5% according to BMI-IOTF standard.The overweight and obesity rates of urban children and adolescents were 30.1%,12.8% and 17.3%,respectively.The overweight and obesity rates of children and adolescents in rural areas were 28.2%,12.9% and 15.3%,and the BMI-IOTF standard results were consistent with them.The abdominal overweight and obesity rate was 42.5% according to WC-China standard,38.2% according to WC-Beijing standard and 36.7% according to WHt R-China Nutrition Society standard.2 Gender comparison: The prevalence rate of overweight and obesity in the whole body and abdominal type is higher for boys than for girls in the age groups of 10~12,13~15 and 16~18.3 Comparison of different regions: There is no significant difference between urban and rural areas in the rates of systemic overweight and obesity and abdominal overweight and obesity.4 Age change trend: the prevalence of systemic overweight and abdominal overweight and obesity increased with age from 7 to12 years old,with the highest incidence rate in the 10 to 12 years old group,and then decreased in the 13 to 15 years old group and 16 to 18 years old group.5 Overweight and obesity screening using BMI standard alone will miss 10.6%~16.8% of abdominal overweight and obesity children,while abdominal overweight and obesity standard alone will miss 1.6%~3.0% of systemic overweight and obesity children.Conclusions 1 The prevalence rate of systemic and abdominal overweight and obesity among 3199 children and adolescents aged 7~18 years in Tangshan City is higher than the domestic survey level.2 The screening and diagnosis criteria for systemic obesity and abdominal obesity are consistent in the screening and diagnosis of overweight and obesityamong 3199 children and adolescents aged 7~18 years in Tangshan city.3 Screening criteria for systemic and abdominal obesity combined with screening for overweight and obesity in 3,199 children and adolescents aged 7-18 in Tangshan can improve the detection rate of obesity.Figure2;Table 11;Reference 107... | Keywords/Search Tags: | Child and adolescents obesity, Abdominal obesity, Waist circumference, Waist circumference height ratio, Standard | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
