Objective: To study the relationship between MPV level in blood and bone mineral density in postmenopausal women. Methods: 1.We selected 459 women according to inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria who were after natural menopause for more than 2 years and admitted to the affiliated hospital of Qingdao university from August 2017 to June 2018.2.Collected the clinical data of all patients included in the study, and recorded the bone mineral density and T values of the hip(femoral neck, femoral trochanter, total femoral, ward's triangle and lumbar vertebral)and lumbar vertebra(L1?L2?L3?L4 and L1-4),baseline data indicators(age, menopausal age,BMI,TG,DB,IB,TP,Ca,Mg,P,PAB,ALB,TC,LDH,GLO etc)and blood indicators(RBC,WBC,PLT,MPV,HB,EO,MONO etc).According to the diagnostic criteria for osteoporosis recommended by WHO,the selected patients were divided into three groups:osteoporosis group/ group T1(n=124),osteopenia group/ group T2(n=158)and normal bone group/ group T3(n=177).3.All of the data was analyzed by statistical software SPSS 22.0,and all quantitative data were described in the form of mean ± standard deviation.One-way ANOVA analysis was used to analyze the statistical significance of the differences among the three groups, and LSD analysis was further used to make pairwise comparisons among the three groups.Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between each indicator and the bone mineral density and T values of the hip and lumbar vertebra. The multiple linear stepwise regression analysis was used to study the relationship between MPV level and bone mineral density and T values of hip and lumbar vertebrae.P<0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: 1.One-way ANOVA analysis showed that the differences of age,BUN,UA,TC,LDH,ALB,PAB,GLO,P,Mg,ALT,AST between osteoporosis group, osteopenia group and normal bone were not statistically significant(all P>0.05);One-way ANOVA analysis showed that the differences of menopausal age,BMI,LDL,TG,DB,IB,TP,Ca between osteoporosis group, osteopenia group and normal bone were statistically significant(all P<0.05);One-way ANOVA analysis results showed that the differences of PDW,EO,MONO,RBC,MCV between osteoporosis group, osteopenia group and normal bone were statistically significant(all P>0.05);One-way ANOVA analysisshowed that the differences of PLT,MPV,WBC,BA,HB between osteoporosis group, osteopenia group and normal bone were statistically significant(all P<0.05);One-way ANOVA analysis showed that the difference of BMD-L1,BMD-L2,BMD-L3,BMD-L4,BMD-L1-4?BMD-femoral neck,BMD-femoral trochanter,BMD-total femoral,BMDward's triangle,T-L1,T-L2,T-L3,T-L4,T-L1-4,T-femoral neck,T-femoral trochanter,T-total femoral and T-ward's triangle between osteoporosis group, osteopenia group and normal bone was statistically significant(all P<0.05).2.Pearson correlation analysis results showed that the level of MPV was negatively correlated with BMD-L1,BMD-L2,BMD-L3,BMD-L4,BMD-L1-4,BMD-femoral neck,BMD-femoral trochanter,BMD-total femoral,BMD-ward's triangle,T-L1,T-L2,T-L3,T-L4,T-L1-4,T-femoral neck,T-femoral trochanter,T-total femoral and T-ward's triangle, and the pearson correlation coefficients were-0.38,-0.42,-0.34,-0.25,-0.36?-0.51,-0.49,-0.48,-0.47,-0.38,-0.36,-0.41,-0.35,-0.42,0.54,0.48,-0.53 and 0.43.The correlation was statistically significant(all P<0.05).3.The multiple linear stepwise regression analysis results showed that the level of MPV was also negatively correlated with BMD-L1,BMD-L2,BMD-L3,BMD-L4,BMD-L1-4?BMD-femoral neck,BMD-femoral trochanter,BMD-total femoral,BMD-ward's triangle,T-L1,T-L2,T-L3,T-L4,T-L1-4,T-femoral neck,T-femoral trochanter,T-total femoral and T-ward's triangle after adjusting for the confounding factors such as age, menopausal age,BMI,TP,ALB,and HB,and the non-standardized coefficients were-0.049,-0.064,-0.040,-0.021,-0.31,-0.047,-0.032,-0.046,-0.038,-0.396,-0.535,-0.530,-0.394,-0.451,-0.435,-0.299,-0.377,and-0.244,respectively.The results were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion: 1.The MPV level in blood in osteoporosis group is higher than that in the osteopenia group and normal bone group.2.The MPV level in blood in postmenopausal women is negatively correlated with the bone mineral density of the hip and lumbar vertebral.
