Observation On The Curative Effect Of Two Surgical Methods On Moderate To Severe Persistent Allergic Rhinitis

Objective:To investigate the difference in Highly selectively branches neurotomy of vidian nerve(posterior nasal neurectomy and pharyngeal branch amputation)and simple posterior nasal neurectomy for moderate to severe persistent allergic rhinitis.Methods:Forty-eight patients with moderate to severe persistent allergic rhinitis in our department from February 2018 to February 2019 were collected and divided into experimental group(group A)and control group(group B).In group A,there were 10 males and 13 females,aged 23-57 years.There were 11 males and 14 females in group B,aged 18-59 years.Group A underwent highly selectively branches neurotomy of vidian nerve(posterior nasal neurotomy and pharyngeal branch amputation),group B underwent simple posterior nasal neurotomy.According to the clinical symptoms and signs of patients,visual analog scale(VAS),rhinoconjunctivitis-related quality of life questionnaire(RQLQ),asthma control test scale(ACT)for patients before and after surgery in patients with nasal symptoms,cough or(and)pharyngeal itching symptoms,evaluate the quality of life,the situation of asthma control,etc,to observe the curative effect of two groups of patients with postoperative differences.Results :The 1-year follow-up showed that the two groups had comparable results in improving nasal symptoms,quality of life(Daily activity problems,eye symptoms,non-nasal/eye symptoms,sleep problems,etc.),and asthma control in patients,andthere was no significant difference(P> 0.05).In terms of cough or / and pharynx itching,the patients in group A and B were improved(P <0.05),however,the symptoms of cough and / or pharynx itching in group A were improved more significantly than those in group B(P <0.05).Conclusions :Both surgical methods can improve nasal symptoms,quality of life,and asthma control in patients with AR(P <0.05),and the efficacy is similar(P> 0.05),but highly selectively branches neurotomy of vidian nerve can better improve the patient’s cough or / and pharynx itching symptoms compared with posterior nasal neurotomy,so surgery for patients with moderate-severe persistent allergic rhinitis with chronic coughor / and pharynx itching can be recommended in addition to the pharyngeal branch of vidian nerve on the basis of simple posterior nasal neurectomy.
