This paper consisted of three parts,including the first chapter introduced the backgrounds of phytochemical research and biological activities of the two plants,Phyllanthus acidus(L.)Skeel and Tetrastigma planicaule(Hook.)Gagnep,the second chapter described the chemical constituents from the leaves of P.acidus and the bioactivities of relative compounds,and the last chapter we investigated the chemical constituents from the stem of T.planicaule.P.acidus,a plant of Phyllanthus,Euphorbiaceae family,is widely distributed in tropical and subtropical areas from Southeast Asia to pacific islands.And this plant has successfully been introduced into some dry-hot valleys with tropical climate conditions in Yunnan Province,China.P.acidzts as an edible fruit plant in Euphorbiaceae family has a long application history in Southeast Asia in menstrual disorders,dermatitis,hypertension,diabetes and other diseases.There are more and more pharmacological actions such as hepatoprotective effect,antibiosis,anti-oxidation,hypotensive and hypoglycemic effect had been investigated.In this research we have isolated and identified twenty-three components from the leaves including triterpenoids,diterpenoids,flavonoids fatty acids and their esters and other compounds.Compound 1 is a new triterpenoid namely phyllanacidol and all other compounds except 2 are obtained from P.acidus for the first time;Compound 1 showed certain hypoglycemic activity in vitro,and the extracts of leaves and fruit suggested a good antioxidant effect on DPPH.T.planicaule is a Tetrastigma plant of Vitaceae mainly distributed in Guangxi,Yunnan and other southwest minority areas.The stem of this plant as a medicinal herb of common Yao medicine had been used for the treatment of rheumatic bone pain,lumbar muscle strain,fall injury,hemiplegia and other diseases.In this experiment a systematic phytochemical study was conducted and ten compounds were isolated and elucidated as triterpenoids,steroids,ceramide and fatty acids from the stem of T.planicaule.Compounds 1,2,4,7,9 and 10 were firstly obtained from this plant.
