Objective:To understand the correlation between caries and obesity, risk factors and the concept of oral treatment behaviors and concepts in 3-5-year-old children in Urumqi.Methods:838 children aged 3-5 years in Urumqi were randomly selected for oral examination, physical examination and questionnaire survey,SPSS 25.0 software was used for statistical analysis.Results:1.The investigation of children’s oral health showed that the caries rate was 73.15%,mean of caries loss and filling index was 4.02,and the oral disease rate was 84.96%.2.The survey of children’s obesity showed that:the obesity rate was11.93%;Logistic regression analysis showed that the older the age[OR=1.812,95%CI(1.205,2.724),P=0.004],boy[OR=0.550,95%CI(0.315,0.957),P=0.035],the heavier the birth weight[OR=3.573,95%CI(1.929,6.621),P=0.000],the more frequent the eating of meat[OR=1.606,95%CI(1.130,2.281),P=0.008],the more frequent the eating of fried food[OR=1.978,95%CI(1.361,2.873),P=0.000],the shorter the average eating time per meal[OR=2.227,95%CI(1.292,3.838),P=0.004],the shorter the average daily exercise time[OR=0.612,95%CI(0.409,0.916),P=0.017],the longer the average daily TV watching time[OR=3.248,95%CI(2.026,5.208),P=0.000],the longer the average daily playing of mobile phones and computers[OR=3.523,95%CI(2.061,6.023),P=0.000],the Familial obesity[OR=3.714,95%CI(1.864,7.400),P=0.000]and maternal obesity before pregnancy[OR=3.614,95%CI(1.690,7.729),P=0.004]were risk factors for childhood obesity.3.The correlation analysis of early childhood caries and obesity in young children showed that:with the increase of body mass index, the caries rate, mean of caries loss and filling index and caries severity decreased(Zcaries=9.800,Pcaries=0.020;ZMean=8.917,PMean=0.030;Zseverity=13.283,Pseverity=0.004);the caries rate of obese children in 5-year-old group and male group was lower than that of non obese children;Logistic regression analysis showed that the older the age[OR=1.504,95%CI(1.160,1.951),P=0.002],the higher the frequency of eating sweets[OR=1.637,95%CI(1.297,2.065),P=0.000],the higher the frequency of sweets before sleeping[OR=1.492,95%CI(1.055,2.111),P=0.024],the later the age of starting to brush teeth[OR=1.377,95%CI(1.169,1.622),P=0.000]and the lower the brushing frequency[OR=0.691,95%CI(0.508,0.941),P=0.019]were risk factors of early childhood caries,obesity[OR=0.474,95%CI(0.283,0.794),P=0.005]was not the risk factor of early childhood caries.4.The analysis of children’s dental behavior showed that:among 677 children who collected the effective questionnaire, the filling rate was7.36%,the pit and fissure sealant rate was 1.18%,and the oral visit rate was 45.49%;in the past 12 months, the most common treatment for children(50.00%),the main reason for children who did not visit was that the children had no tooth problems(55.45%);the cognition and score of oral health of parents with dental behaviors were better than those without medical behaviors(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.The prevalence of dental caries and obesity was higher in children aged 3 to 5 years in Urumqi, and there was a negative correlation between dental caries and obesity.2.The incidence of caries and obesity in 3-5years old children in this area was related to many factors such as age and eating habits.3.Children aged 3-5 in this area had a low rate of dental treatment, weak concept of seeking medical treatment actively, and poor awareness of oral health care of their parents.
