ObjectiveThe clinical efficacy of iRoot-BP Plus was evaluated by observing the response and success rate of pulpotomy in primary molars using iRoot-BP Plus.MethodsChoose June 2018 to June 2019,the first affiliated hospital of Zhengzhou University children’s dental treated primary molars deep caries near the pulp or early pulpitis,a total of 50 children with teeth,divided into 2 groups according to the pulp capping agent,iRoot-BP Plus group and calcium hydroxide group,25 cases in each group,observe two groups of postoperative reaction and the success rate of postoperative 3,6,12 months,and comparison,using SPSS21.0 package for statistical analysis.ResultsAfter a 1-year follow-up,the response of the iRoot BP Plus group was observed:1 patient had a high fever after surgery,and the symptoms disappeared after medication.One case complained of discomfort during occlusion 1 day after pith resection,percussion(-)was performed,and the symptoms disappeared 1 day later.One patient had mild pain 1 day after surgery,and the pain disappeared after 1 week of observation.One patient(second molar,upper left)had secondary caries at the original backfill edge,percussion(+),and no pathologic loosening 12 months after the surgery.X-ray film showed that the root bifurcation had mild low-density image,which was changed to root canal treatment.In this group,a total of 25 cases of teeth were affected,24 cases were successful,and 1 case was failed.X-ray examination of successfully treated teeth showed the formation of dentine calcification bridge,most of which were continuous,no abnormal images of root bifurcation and periapical apex,and no symptoms of discomfort in clinical examination.Observation of postoperative reaction in the calcium hydroxide group:1 patient showed low-grade fever and anorexia behavior after surgery,and the systemic symptoms improved after 3 days.Three patients had mild discomfort and percussion(-)within 3 days after surgery,and the symptoms disappeared after 1 week.1 case had pain 1 month after pith resection.Percussion(++)was performed to check the unocclusal high point,and there was no pathological loosening.X-ray showed mildly low-density image of root bifurcation.At the time of reexamination 3 months after the resection of the living pulp,1 case was observed to have low-density X-ray image at the bifurcation of the root,which was changed to root canal treatment.In 2 cases,the backfill fell off and percussion(+)was performed 6 months after the surgery.X-ray results showed that there were low-density images around the root bifurcation and the root tip,which were all changed to root canal treatment.During the X-ray reexamination 12 months after the surgery,4 cases were found to have endodontic absorption and pathologic loosening.After communication with the guardian of the child,the affected tooth was extracted,and then the gap maintainer was used to maintain the missing tooth space.In this group,there were 25 cases of dental problems,17 cases of success and 8 cases of failure.X-ray examination of successfully treated teeth showed the formation of primary calcification bridge,only a few teeth had continuous calcification bridge,no abnormal images of root bifurcation and periapical apex,and no symptoms of discomfort in clinical examination.3 and 6 months after the operation,the 2 component power had statistical significance(P<0.05)Twelve months after the operation,the composition power of iRoot BP Plus was significantly higher than that of the calcium hydroxide group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).ConclusioniRoot BP Plus was more suitable for the application of pulpotomy in the primary molar.It is necessary for clinicians to strictly judge the state of the pulp of deciduous teeth and strictly observe the aseptic operation,so as to improve the success rate of pulpotomy. |
