Objective: To examine the relationship between lymph node yield(LNY)and other clinico-pathological factors, and discuss the characters of patients with LNY<12.Method: The clinico-pathologic data of patients who underwent radical rectal resection(R0)in our department during July 2015 to August 2018 was collected an d analyzed retrospectively. The correlation of clinico-pathological factors and LN Y was assessed statistically.Result: The maximum tumor diameter, visceral fat(VF)and mesorectal fat(MF)content, preoperative absolute lymphocyte count(ALC)were significantly associated with LNY(P<0.05).Patients with middle and lower rectal cancer had different LNY between different MF levels(P=0.011),while VF had no significant relations hip with LNY(P=0.074).Tumor maximum diameter,VF content, and preoperative ALC were independent factors influencing whether LNY was sufficient. Conclusion: The maximum diameter,VF and MF content, and the preoperative A LC were related factors of LNY.Compared with VF content, the relationship between LNY and MF is higher in patients with middle and lower rectal cancer.Patients with smaller tumors, higher VF levels, and higher preoperative ALC values were more likely to have insufficient LNY.
