Objective: To compare the clinical outcomes of Zero-P implant system and the traditional anterior cervical interbody fusion with plate combines with cage in treatment of single-level cervical spondylosis. Methods: A retrospective analysis of 52 patients undergoing anterior cervical intervertebral discectomy and interbody fusion with internal fixation was performed in our department from August 2016 to February 2018.24 of 52 cases were treated by Zero-P implant system(group A)and the other 28 cases were treated by traditional anterior cervical interbody fusion with plate combines with cage(group B).Record the operation time and intraoperative blood loss of each patient in two groups and record the preoperative and postoperative JOA scores of patients with cervical spondylotic myelopathy and mixed cervical spondylosis in both groups.Record the preoperative and postoperative VAS scores of patients with nerve-root type cervical spondylosis and mixed type cervical spondylosis in both groups.Measure cervical Cobb angle and observe the incidence of postoperative dysphagia and abnormal activity in the surgical space.Full in a specific questionnaire regarding satisfaction of postoperative quality of life. Results: The operation time and intraoperative blood loss of group A is significantly less than that in group B,the differences was statistically significant(p<0.05).Compare JOA scores and VAS scores between the corresponding patients in the two groups after surgery with before surgery, the differences was statistically significant(p<0.05).However,compare JOA scores and VAS scores at same time in the two groups, the differences were not statistically significant(P>0.05).The incidence of postoperative dysphagia of group A is less than that in group B,the differences was statistically significant(p<0.05).The satisfaction of postoperative quality of life in short term of group A is better than that in group B,the differences was statistically significant(p<0.05).All patients in both groups were well fixed and had no abnormal activity in the surgical space. Conclusion: Compare with the traditional anterior cervical interbody fusion with plate combines with cage,Zero-P implant system have similar efficacy in the treatment of single-segment cervical spondylotic myelopathy.However,Zero-P is relatively simple in operation, the operation time is short, and the intraoperative blood loss is small. It can effectively improve the cervical postoperative Cobb angle while effectively reducing the complications such as postoperative dysphagia.Patients in Zero-P group had a higher satisfaction of quality of life.
