Objective: To investigate the interrelationship among false lumen volume and peripheral blood concentrations of homocysteine and C-reactive protein in patients with acute uncomplicated type B dissections. Methods: Fifty-five patients with Stanford B aortic dissection treated in the Department of Vascular surgery, the first affiliated Hospital of China Medical University from January 2015 to December 2017 were selected. The concentrations of Hcy and CRP in peripheral blood were measured by ELISA method. The true lumen volume(TLV),false lumen volume(FLV)and total volume(TAV)from left subclavian artery to abdominal aorta were measured by imaging method. The relationship between false lumen volume(FLV)and clinical factors,as well as the relationship among false lumen volume(FLV),Hcy and CRP were analyzed. Results: According to the ratio of FLV/TAV,the patients were divided into two groups: group A(<0.46)and group B(≥0.46).The age,the proportion of cardiovascular history, the concentration of Hcy and the concentration of C-reactive protein in group B were significantly higher than those in group A(all P < 0.05).Correlation analysis showed that the concentration of Hcy was positively correlated with the false lumen volume(FLV)(r ≥ 0.078),the ratio of false lumen volume to total volume(FLV/TAV)(r ≥ 0.122)and the maximum diameter of false cavity(r ≥ 0.080).However,there was no correlation between CRP concentration and other factors(all P > 0.05).Conclusion: The size of the false lumen volume(FLV),the concentration of Hcy and CRP in peripheral blood may be the risk factors for the progression of Stanford B aortic dissection, and there may be a mutually reinforcing relationship between the size of FLV and the concentration of Hcy.
