Objective: Rotational acetabular osteotomy(RAO)which is one of the most commonly used hip-conservative procedure for developing acetabular dysplasia by adjusting the position of the acetabular to improve the acetabular-femoral head coverage and improve joint stability, but how to ensure its osteotomy accuracy is a major challenge in surgery. The purpose of this study is to investigate the feasibility of 3D printing technology in acetabular rotational osteotomy. Methods: A total of 29 acetabular dysplasia patients(30 hips)were treated by RAO with3 D printing model which includes 0 males and 29 females from May 2013 to May 2018.The patients aged from 18 to 52 years with an average age of 36.0 years, followed up for7 to 28 months with an average follow-up time of 13.4 months.Scaning all the patients with 64-slice spiral CT.DICOM format files of patient CT examination results were extracted and then obtaining the 3D printing model of hip of patients with 3D printing technology. The parameters of LCE angle,Sharp angle,T?nnis angle and rate of acetabular coverage were compared before and after the twe operations。Results: All patients had significant differences(P <0.05)in LCE angle,Sharp angle,T?nnis angle and rate of acetabular coverage measured before and after surgery. There are significant differences(P <0.05)in postoperative LCE angle, acetabular coverage, the degree of downward movement of the center of rotation and operation time between the3 D printing group and non-3D printing group, while no significant differences(P> 0.05)in the postoperative Sharp angle and T?nnis angle between the 3D printing group and non-3D printing group.Compared with the non-3D printing group, above outcomes were more consistent with the normal hip imaging index.Pre-operation on pelvis model can effectively reducing the interference, which from abnormally inclined acetabular angle, abnormally abduction angle, abnormally developed acetabular margin and hyperplastic osteophyte in determining osteotomy line and angle of osteotomy,to avoid the above problems as far as possible in the actual operation. Conclusion: The application of 3D printing model to RAO can indeed improve the accuracy and safety of acetabular osteotomy with shorten time and facilitation.
