| Objective:To investigate the relationship between serum interleukin-19(IL-19)levels and carotid atherosclerosis in patients with diabetic nephropathy. Methods : A total of 120 diabetic nephropathy patients were entrolled in at the Municipal Hospital of Qingdao City from January 2018 to April 2018.According to the urinary albumin/creation ratio(ACR),they were divided into micro-albuminuria nephropathy group and macro-albuminuria nephropathy group. Then divided into two subgroups: those with carotid atherosclerosis and those without carotid atherosclerosis. At the same time,a total of 30 healthy subjects were enrolled.Collecting the patients’ clinical data and blood biochemical indicators, glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c),serum creatinine(Scr),urea nitrogen(BUN),total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low density lipoprotein(LDL)and other indicators.Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)was used to measure serum IL-19 concentration.Doppler color ultrasonography was used to determine whether there was carotid atherosclerosis.Statistical analysis of the t-test and analysis of variance were used to analyze whether there was a statistical difference between the IL-19 concentrations in each group. The correlation between IL-19 and each index were tested by Pearson correlation analysis. Results : One hundred and twenty DN patients were enrolled : mean age was(63.56±9.33)years,sixty-one patients belong to the macro-albuminuria nephropathy group and fifty-five patients belong to the micro-albuminuria nephropathy group. The incidence of carotid atherosclerosis was 62.3% and 42.4%,respectively.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of IL-19 in the marco-albuminuria nephropathy group were significantly higher than those in the micro-albuminuria nephropathy group and the healthy control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Serum IL-19 levels in the large marco-albuminuria nephropathy group was significantly higher than that in the micro-albuminuria nephropathy group and the healthy control group, the difference wasstatistically significant(P< 0.05);In the macro-albuminuria nephropathy group, the level of IL-19 in patients with carotid atherosclerosis was higher than that in patients without carotid atherosclerosis. The same results were observed in the microalbuminuria group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Serum IL-19 levels was positively correlated with glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c),C-reactive protein(CRP),glucose, low density lipoprotein(LDL)and cholesterol(TC)(r=0.255,0.515,0.224,0.067,0.135,P < 0.05,respectively),while there was no significant correlation of triglycerides and high-density lipoprotein. Conclusion : With the development of diabetic nephropathy and the increase of albuminuria, serum IL-19 gradually increased, then the incidence of carotid atherosclerosis increased.IL-19 plays a role in the occurrence of diabetic vascular complications, accelerating the development of diabetic vascular complications.IL-19 is related to glycemic control, blood lipids and inflammatory status. |
