Objective: To investigate the correlation between the 6-minute walking test(6MWT)and prognosis of patients with gastric cancer. Methods: The clinical data of 112 gastric cancer patients received by the department of general surgery of Qingdao Municipal Hospital from June 2017 to June 2018 was analyzed. After exclution,76 patients at last receive 6MWT.Compare the 6-minute walking distance(6MWD)with the predicted walking distance by T.TRooster prediction formula. And then, groups are divided based on the results and Nutrient level.Patients were divided as follows: Group A1,patients with higher result and poor Nutritional station;Group A2,patients with higher result and good Nutritional station;Group B1,patients with Lower result and poor Nutritional station;Group B2,patients with Lower result and good Nutritional station.Compare the first-postoperative exhaust time, postoperative hospital stay after surgery, postoperative complication rate, hospitalization cost in different groups.Data is analyzed by SPSS 20.0 statistical software. The measurement data were expressed in?x±s form. The comparison was performed by independent-sample-t test. The comparison of the count data was performed by chi-square test or Fisher exact probability method. The difference was defined statistically significant when P<0.05.Results:6MWT were completed by all 76 patients.37 patients are in good Nutritional station. The first-postoperative exhaust time in group A1 is 3.86±0.79(day),compared with4.65±0.82(day)in group B1,where difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the first-postoperative exhaust time in group A2 is 2.92±0.74(day),compared with 4.07±0.71(day)in group B2,where difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The postoperative hospital stay after surgery in group A1 is 12.14±2.15(day),compared with 14.71±3.62(day)in group B1,in which significant difference was found statistically(P<0.05);The postoperative hospital stay after surgery in group A2 is 10.10±2.78(day),compared with14.57±1.51(day)in group B2,in which significant difference was found statistically(P<0.05).The postoperative complication rate in group A1 is 18.18%(4/22),compared with35.29%(6/17)in group B1,which represents a statistically significant difference(P<0.05);The postoperative complication rate in group A2 is 10.00%(3/30),compared with 28.57%(2/7)in group B2,which represents a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The hospitalization cost in group A1 is 66754.31±18536.13(yuan),compared with86355.28±22672.53(yuan)in group B1,in which significant difference was foundstatistically(P<0.05);The hospitalization cost in group A2 is 64094.81±13561(yuan),compared with 80446.87±17265(yuan)in group B2,in which significant difference was found statistically(P<0.05).Conclusions: The 6MWT validly predicts the outcomes of patients with gastric cancer.Patients in the qualified group cost less and get shorter first-postoperative exhaust time, postoperative hospital stay after surgery, and lower postoperative complication rate.
