Objective:To investigate the relationship between cytomegalovirus(CMV)infect and liver injury in biliary atresia. Methods:The clinical data of 85 children with biliary atresia diagnosed in our hospital from December 1,2015 to May 1,2018 were retrospectively analyzed.According to the blood and urine cytomegalovirus DNA-PCR,and CMV-IgM the results were divided into infection group(n=25)and non-infection group(n=60).Liver biopsy results, liver function indications(AST、ALT、TB、DB、GGT),PLT and APRI on admission were compared between the two groups. Results: There were significant differences in AST,ALT and DB between the two groups(p<0.05),but there was no significant difference between PLT,TB,GGT and APRI(p>0.05)There was no significant difference between the two groups in the degree of liver fibrosis(p>0.05).The degree of hepatocyte inflammation in the infection group was more severity than that in the non-infection group(p=0.018).Conclusion:Cytomegalovirus infection aggravates liver inflammation and cholestasis in biliary atresia, but no significant association with liver fibrosis.
