Progress In Neurobiological Research On Internet Game Disorder

With the rising increase in Internet-usage,Internet game disorder(IGD)has become a widely concerned social problem.It is very similar to substance-related addictions,with four characteristics: excessive use,withdraw,tolerance,and negative repercussions.This article reviews and analyzes recent neurobiological research on Internet game disorder,using neuroimaging techniques,electrophysiology method,autonomic nervous system detection techniques,and molecular neurobiology related technologies.It also shows the impact of Internet game addiction on brain structure and function discovered by the above methods,hoping to provide some reference for the future research and treatment of IGD.
