| Objective : To investigate neonatal hydrocephalus clinical features. Methods:Pediatric inpatients with newborn hydrocephalus were searched by pediatric inpatient medical records retrieval system from June 2013 to June 2018.According to gestational age, patients were divided to two groups: preterm infant group and full term infant group.A total of 136 neonatal hydrocephalus patients were enrolled, the preterm infant group were 78 cases, the full term infant group were 58 cases. The clinical features, etiology and therapy were retrospectively analyzed. Results:The incidence of the premature infant group in intracranial hemorrhage, asphyxia of newborn, coagulation disorders was higher than those of full term infant group(P ﹤ 0.05),while the incidence of intracranial infection and epileptic seizure was the opposite, the difference was statistically significant(P﹤0.05).There was no significant difference in severe asphyxia, severity of hydrocephalus between the premature infant group and the term infant group(P﹥0.05).Conclusions : Intracranial hemorrhage is the primary cause of hydrocephalus in premature infants, and premature infants are more prone to asphyxia and coagulation dysfunction than full-term infants.Otherwise, intracranial infection plays an important role in the etiology of hydrocephalus in infants. |
