Analysis Of Occupational Satisfaction And Occupational Fatigue Factors Of Pediatric Surgeons In Jiangsu Province

[Objective] The interview and questionnaire survey were used to investigate pediatric surgeons in Jiangsu Province for understanding their occupational satisfaction and occupational fatigue status and exploring the factors affecting the occupational satisfaction and occupational fatigue in Jiangsu Province,so as to improve the occupational satisfaction.The results will provide a basis for decision-making to improve the occupational environment and psychological stress of pediatric surgeons in Jiangsu Province.[Methods] 1.Literature review method: research on doctors’ occupational satisfaction survey and occupational fatigue literature at home and abroad;2.interview method: all the members of the Children’s Surgery Branch of Jiangsu Medical Association were interviewed for understanding the factors affecting their work and developing a questionnaire;3.Questionnaire method: A cross-sectional survey was conducted on a total of 200 pediatric surgeons in various hospitals in Jiangsu Province by using the Minnesota Satisfaction(MSQ)short questionnaire,the special occupational environmental background questionnaire and the job satisfaction and occupational fatigue of the occupational fatigue questionnaire.A total of 176 valid questionnaires were retrieved;4.Statistical analysis: Descriptive statistics,t-test,analysis of variance,multiple regression analysis and multivariate Logistic regression analysis were used to analyze the results of the questionnaires.[Results] 1.Jiangsu pediatric surgeons were generally dissatisfied with the work,and the satisfaction of pediatric surgeons of different ages was different(P<0.05).The satisfaction of pediatric surgeons over 50 years old was significantly higher than that of doctors under 50 years old.The internal satisfaction and overall satisfaction of the 31-40 years old were the lowest;the overall satisfaction of the senior professional title was higher,and the internal satisfaction of the intermediate professional title was lower(P<0.05);the pediatric surgeon of the specialized children’s hospital was higher than the satisfaction of general hospital(P<0.05).There was no difference in the satisfaction of pediatric surgeons with different genders and different academic qualifications(P>0.05).Daily working hours(hours),working days per week(days),work units were the main factors affecting the satisfaction of pediatric surgeons in Jiangsu Province(P<0.05).2.Pediatric surgeon special occupational environment background survey results show that a higher proportion of pediatric surgeons complain about the occupational environment and are dissatisfied with occupational income.92.62% of pediatric surgeons believe that occupational risk is higher.3.The results of occupational fatigue survey show that more than 70% of pediatric surgeons believe that the current work intensity makes the body and spirit feel very tired.The workload is large and often has to work overtime,the hospital assessment is too frequent and the tension about doctor-patient relationship were the main cause of occupational fatigue(P<0.05).[Conclusions and Suggestions] The pediatric surgeons have lower occupational satisfaction and higher levels of occupational fatigue in Jiangsu Province.They should be pay full attention and effective measures should be taken to improve the situation.In addition,in order to promote the development of children’s health care in Jiangsu Province,care for children’s physical and mental health should be improved,and improve occupational satisfaction and the quality of medical services,reduce occupational fatigue should also be implemented.
