| Objective:To compare the bleeding amount, duration of cesarean section and postoperative complications between the two kinds of balloons used in IIABO during caesarean section among patients with pernicious placenta previa. Methods:The clinical data of 57 patient with pernicious placenta previa in last five years were retrospectively analyzed. There were 27 cases in group A and 30 cases in group B respectively.Fogarty balloon occlusion was performed in group A and PTA balloon occlusion in group B.The balloons were placed into bilateral IIA before cesarean section, and then the patient was transferred to the operating room for cesarean section. After the delivery of the fetus, the balloons were filled before separation. The balloons were emptied according to the amount of intraoperative bleeding after complete separation of placenta. Results:The average volume of intraoperative bleeding was 578.1 ml in group A and was842.0 ml in group B.The average duration of cesarean section in group A(72.4minites±17.4minites)was shorter than that in group B(86.9minites±27.9minites).There was statistical difference between the two groups in the bleeding amount and the duration of cesarean section(P<0.05).The uteruses were successfully retained in all 27 patients in group A.Hysterectomy had to be carried out in 1 patient of the group B because of refractory hemorrhage. There was no statistical difference between the two groups in postoperative complications(P>0.05).Conclusion:Two kinds of balloons used in IIABO during cesarean section among patients with pernicious placenta previa are safe and reliable.Compared with PTA balloon,Fogarty balloon was more effective in blocking IIA blood flow, which could further reduce the volume of intraoperative bleeding and shorten the duration of cesarean section. |
