Objective:In order to:investigate the dietary structure of kindergarten,we conducted this study.The nutritional status of Children was also assessed by dietary intake and medical examination.Methods:Food materials of 5 consecutive days were weighted according to the menu,and the weight was recorded,energy and nutrients food provided were analyzed by software.Medical examination was conducted,which had measured height,body weight,level of haemoglobin(Hb).Body mass index(BMI)was calculated to assess the status of obesity.Results:A total of 1169 children were enrolled in this study,including 607 boys and 562 girls,with an average age of 4.2 years.The results of the dietary survey showed that,in contrast to the RNI,the three major nutrients and energy and vitamin B1 of the kindergarten children met the dietary evaluation criteria;vitamin A:76.96%,vitamin B2:126.67%,vitamirt C:132.99%,calcium:74.17%,iron:157.96%,zinc:82.42%.Results of medical examination showed that among the 1169 children,there were 85 children as overweight,the prevalence rate was 7.27%;children who were regarded as obese was 73,the prevalence rate was 6.24%;tihe number of malnourished was 9,and the prevalence rate was 0.77%;the low body weight rate was 0.68%,the growth retardation rate was 0.09%,and the number of people with mild anemia detected by hemoglobin was 38,and the prevalence rate was 3.25%.No moderate or severe anemia was found.Conclusions:Based on this survey,the source of fat was unbalanced,and the nutrients of iron and vitamin C were over-intaken.The amount of vitamin A and calcium was insufficient,.Overall,the children in this kindergarten were in good nutritional condition,and the low weight rate and growth retardation rate were much lower than that of the national level(3.1%,4.9%)obtained from the 2002 epidemiological survey,and the prevalence of overweight and obesity were higher than that of the national level(3.4%,2.0%)in 2002.Therefore,the child care institutions should strengthen the formulation of the diet,conduct regular meal surveys and dietary evaluations,and rationally arrange diet for children in the park.
