Objective:This thesis aims to analyze the correlation between different nutritional modalities, skeletal muscle consumption and hospitalization time in patients with severe acute pancreatitis,to confirm the possibility of using early skeletal muscle consumption as an indicator to predict the duration of disease, and to explore the effect of different nutritional modalities on hospitalization time and ICU residence time. Methods:This research collect the materials of 80 patients with severe acute pancreatitis(SAP)who were admitted to the intensive care unit of Sir Run Run Shaw hospital affiliated to Zhejiang University during Jan 1St 2018 to Dec 31st 2018.According to the presence of enteral nutrition contraindication and intestinal tolerance during enteral nutrition, different nutrition support methods were selected for patients with severe acute pancreatitis.Early nutrition modalities was defined as that patients could tolerate within 1 week after being admitted to hospital.Early skeletal muscle consumption was defined as muscle consumption during ICU stay.It can beinvestigated whether there is a correlation between different nutrition modalities in early stage of severe acute pancreatitis with ICU residence time and hospitalization time and whether there is a correlation between skeletal muscle consumption in ICU patients with the length of hospital stays, confirming the possibility of using early skeletal muscle consumption as an indicator to predict the duration of disease, and exploring the effect of early different nutrition methods on the length of hospital stays and length of ICU stays. Results:There was a correlation between skeletal muscle consumption and total hospital stays in patients with severe acute pancreatitis during the acute phase when in ICU,that is,the higher the skeletal muscle consumption, the longer the total hospital stays was.The difference has statistical meaning(p<0.001).Different way of early nutrition support is also correlated with patients with ICU stay time, total length of hospital stays. The ICU stay time and hospitalization time of patients with severe acute pancreatitis were the shortest in the stomach intake nutrition group, and the difference has statistically significant(p<0.001).Conclusion:The modality of early nutritional support in patients with severe acute pancreatitis is related to the length of ICU stays and the length of hospital stays, among which gastric feeding has the most positive effect on shortening the course of disease.Skeletal muscle consumption during ICU stays was correlated with total hospital stays, suggesting that early skeletal muscle consumption could be used as an indicator of disease duration time.
