| ObjectiveTo explore the correlation between prenatal venous sex hormone levels and neonatal morphological development, for reducing the adverse birth outcome of neonates and improving the quality of life of neonates and adolescents.MethodA total of 342 pairs of pregnant women and neonates were collected in a local tertiary A hospital. The general situation of pregnant women were investigated by selfdesigned questionnaire. The neonates were measured body shape indicators.Prenatal venous blood and umbilical cord blood were collected 4 ml each and the levels of estradiol, testosterone, free testosterone, dihydrotestosterone, dehydroepiandrosterone, and sex hormone binding globulin in serum were detected respectively.T-test and variance test were used to compare the difference between the two groups, and the rate difference between the two groups was compared by chi-square test and Fisher exact probability method. On the basis of univariate analysis, multivariate linear regression was used to analyze the correlation between prenatal sex hormone levels and neonatal morphological development indicators.Results1.There were significant differences in body length and biparietal diameter between male and female infants(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in birth weight, head circumference and femur length between male and female infants(P > 0.05).Birth weight, length, head circumference, biparietal diameter, femur length, premature delivery < full-term delivery < overdue delivery(P < 0.001).The levels of UC_T,UC_FT and UC_DHT in umbilical cord blood of male infants were higher than those of female infants(P < 0.05).2.Prenatal FT levels were correlated with gestational times and active smoking.Prenatal SHBG was positively correlated with GWG(P < 0.05).GWG only affected UC_T level,pre-pregnancy BMI,parity and birth weight were only related to UC_SHBG,active smoking of pregnant women affected UC_FT and UC_DHT levels in umbilical cord blood(P < 0.05).3.UC_E2 and UC_T levels in umbilical cord blood of male infants were positively correlated with prenatal T(r=0.22,r=0.15,P<0.01).UC_T levels of female infants were positively correlated with prenatal T(r=0.28,P<0.01).4.The birth weight of male infants was negatively correlated with UC-E2(P < 0.05),and the biparietal diameter was negatively correlated with prenatal SHBG(P < 0.05).The length of female infants was positively correlated with UC_T(P < 0.05),femur length was positively correlated with prenatal SHBG(P < 0.05).Conclusion1.Prenatal sex hormones(T,FT,DHT,DHEA,SHBG)and umbilical cord blood sex hormones(E2,T,FT,DHT,DHEA)were related.Prenatal SHBG,UC_E2 and UC_T in cord blood were correlated with neonatal morphological development.2.GWG,pregnancy times, parity and active smoking during pregnancy are related to prenatal and infant cord blood sex hormone levels.Prenatal sex hormone levels of pregnant women are related to infant cord blood sex hormone levels.Prenatal SHBG,UC_E2 and UC_T of pregnant women are related to neonatal morphological development. It suggests that prenatal sex hormone levels of pregnant women may be directly or indirectly related to neonatal morphological development through cord blood sex hormone. |
