Irritable bowel syndrome(IBS),as a common digestive disorder, has been paid more and more attention in recent years. In recent years, relevant studies have shown that the incidence of IBS is related to abnormalsecretion of brain-intestinal peptides. As a molecule of brain-intestinal peptides,BDNF and CGRP participate in the occurrence of IBS.This study aims to explore the correlation between BDNF and CGRP and IBS,and provide a new theoretical basis for the diagnosis, treatment and pathogenesis of IBS.Objective: to investigate the expression levels of BDNF and CGRP in colonic and ileal mucosa tissues and serum,SAS and SDS(self-rating depression scale)between patients with IBS and those in the normal control group, and to explore the correlation among them. Methods: 20 cases of IBS patients and 15 cases of normal control group were scored by SAS and SDS.Fasting serum and intestinal mucosa samples were collected.Serum BDNF and CGRP concentrations were detected by ELISA.The expression levels of BDNF and CGRP in colon and ileum mucosa were measured by immunohistochemistry.Results:1 Compared with the healthy control group, the SAS and SDS scores of IBS patients were significantly increased(P<0.05).2 Compared with the healthy control group,BDNF and CGRP expression concentrations in serum, intestinal(ileum, colon)mucosa of IBS patients were significantly increased(P<0.05).3 BDNF was positively correlated with CGRP expression in serum of IBS patients(P<0.05).BDNF was positively correlated with CGRP expression in intestinal(ileum, colon)mucosal tissues of IBS patients(P<0.05).BDNF was positively correlated with CGRP expression in serum and intestinal(ileum, colon)mucosal tissues of patients with IBS(P<0.05).4 In serum of patients with IBS,the expressions of BDNF and CGRP were positively correlated with SAS and SDS scores(P<0.05).In the intestinal(ileum, colon)mucosal tissues of IBS patients, the expressions of BDNF and CGRP were positively correlated with SAS and SDS scores(P<0.05).Conclusions:1 Anxiety and depression may be involved in the occurrence and development of IBS.2 The expression levels of BDNF and CGRP in serum and intestinal mucosa(ileum and colon)of IBS patients were significantly higher than that of the normal group.3 Anxiety and depression may be involved in the occurrence of IBS by affecting the expression of BDNF and CGRP.
