Subregional Volumes Of The Hippocampus In Relation To Cognitive Function Between Mild Cognitive Impairment And Alzheimer’s Disease

Objective:whether there are relationships between different cognitive functional domains and Subregional volumes of the hippocampus in each groups MCI and AD Methods:We were enrolled 84 cases in this study,included 25 patients with 27 controls(59.78±13.82 years;8/19),32 patients with MCI(63.19±12.5 years;15/17),and AD(68.28±10.39 years;F/M 15/10).Basic information was collected,including age,education,and Neuropsychological assessment scale scores.Subregional volumes of the hippocampus was measured by magnetic resonance imaging.MR scan was performed(1.5 T),using three-dimensional T1、T2 and T2 FLAIR-weighted gradient echo sequence.Results:in AD group,Pearson correlation analysis was performed between neuropsychological assessment scale and Subregional volumes of the hippocampus.The results show:1.There was a correlation between the left hippocampus and the age MMSE score(p<0.05),and the absolute value of Pearson correlation coefficient was between 0.4 ~ 0.6.2.There was a correlation between the left hippocampus and age,MMSE,VF and AVLT(p<0.05).Absolute Pearson related coefficient 0.4~0.6;There was a significant correlation between the left hippocampal tail and TMT-A.Pearson correlation coefficient was 0.491;3.there was a correlation between the right hippocampus and MMSE(Pearson correlation coefficient-0.4~0.6);4.The Pearson correlation coefficient between the total volume of the right hippocampus and speech fluency was-0.449;in MCI group,1.The absolute value of Pearson correlation coefficient between the left hippocampal head and age MMSE score was between 0.3 ~ 0.4;2.Right hippocampus body and TMT-A : Pearson correlation coefficient-0.384.Conclusion:Relationship between each part of bilateral hippocampus and NABIn AD group:The relationship between NAB and hippocampal parts1.The left hippocampus body was positively correlated with age to a moderate degree.The left hippocampus body showed moderate negative correlation with MMSE、VF、and AVLT.Left hippocampus tail showed moderate positive correlation with TMT-A;2.There was a moderate negative correlation between the right hippocampus and the MMSE、VF、DST(reverse learning).There was a moderate negative correlation between total right hippocampal volume and VFin MCI group :The relationship between NAB and hippocampal parts1.The left hippocampal head was weakly positively correlated with age,and weakly negatively correlated with MMSE2.There was a weak negative correlation between the right hippocampus and TMT-A...
