Objective: To identify the effectiveness of neonatal diseases screening project(neonatal hearing impairment screening and neonatal genetic metabolic disease screening)and related factors,to provide evidence for the further development and improvement of screening policies and measures. Methods: The neonatal hearing screening data from 2013 to 2016 and neonatal genetic metabolic disease screening data from 2014 to 2017 in Ningguo City were selected, and data were analyzed using Excel 2007 and SPSS 22.0.The chi-square test was used to implement the univariate analysis and the logistic regression was used to implement the multivariate analysis. Results: There were 13166 newborns received hearing screening test in 2013-2016(97.02%)and 12130 newborns received metabolic diseases screening test in 2014-2017(99.06%)in Ningguo city,Anhui province. The positive rates of the two type diseases were 9.16% and 2.37% respectively. The re-screening rates of the two type diseases were 87.31% and 98.96% respectively. The referral rates of the two type diseases were 37.04% and 100% respectively. The incidence rate of the two type diseases were 1.67‰ and 1.24‰ respectively. The false positive rate of neonatal hearing impairment screening was 9.02% and the false negative rate was 4.55%.The false positive rate of neonatal genetic metabolic disease screening was 2.25%,and the false negative rate was zero.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the positive rate of neonatal hearing screening was related to gender, mode of delivery, screening method, number of fetuses and screening age(P<0.05);the rate of hearing impairment was related to external ear malformations and family history of deafness(P<0.05);the rate of neoatal metabolic diseases was related to birth month, premature birth and low birth weight(P<0.05).Conclusion: The effect of neonatal screening diseases as a national basic public health service project in Ningguo City,Anhui Province was good. The referral and diagnosis and treatment of neonatal hearing impairment were not standardized, and the entire screening process for neonatal genetic metabolic diseases was standardized. The screening process should be further standardized, screening time and screening personnel should be reasonably arranged, quality control throughout the process,real-time collection, utilization of information and improvement of the treatment subsidies for confirmed children should be further standardized in order to improve the effectiveness of project.
