| Object: To study the feasibility of Red blood cell distribution width(RDW)and Platelet distribution width(PDW)in routine blood tests as hematological screening indicators for gastric cancer. The sensitivity and specificity of RDW and PDW for screening gastric cancer alone and the sensitivity and specificity of combined detection of RDW and PDW for screening gastric cancer were analyzed, providing a new idea for the study of gastric cancer serological screening indicators. Methods: Gastric cancer patients and patients with benign gastric lesions treated in The Third Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University from January 2016 to October 2018 were selected as the research objects, and inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria for the research objects were formulated.Finally,108 cases of gastric cancer and 108 cases of benign gastric lesions were selected as subjects. All subjects were confirmed by gastroscopy and pathology in the hospital. At the same time,108 healthy subjects were selected as the control group. The age,sex and other basic data of the three groups were analyzed retrospectively,as well as correlative parameters such as red blood cell distribution width, platelet distribution width and gastroscopy results. The differences of red blood cell distribution width and platelet distribution width between the three groups were compared by t-est.The subject’s working characteristic curve was made to test the sensitivity and specificity of red blood cell distribution width and platelet distribution width as hematological screening indicators for gastric cancer separately,The two indexes were combined to detect the sensitivity and specificity in gastric cancer screening too. Results: 1.The results of the comparison of red blood cell distribution width and platelet distribution width between the control group and the benign gastric lesion group were as follows: the red blood cell distribution width was(13.323 0.577)% compared with(13.681 1.991)%,P=0.074,and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The platelet width was(16.157 0.301)fl than(16.235 0.540)fl,P=0.190,and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).2.The results of the comparison of red blood cell distribution width and platelet distribution width between the gastric cancer group and the control group were as follows: the red blood cell distribution width was(16.391 3.256)%compared with(13.323 0.577)%,P<0.01,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The platelet width was(16.836 0.790)fl than(16.157 0.301)fl P<0.01,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.The comparison of red blood cell distribution width and platelet distribution width between the gastric cancer group and the benign gastric lesion group showed that the red blood cell distribution width was(16.3913.256)% compared with(13.681 1.991)%,P<0.01,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The platelet width was(16.836 0.790)fl than(16.235 0.540)fl,P=0.0186,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).For gastric cancer screening: the sensitivity of red cell distribution width was 80.6%,the specificity was80.1%,and the critical value was 13.655.The sensitivity, specificity and critical value of platelet distribution width were 74.1%,77.3% and 16.410 respectively. When the two indicators were combined, the sensitivity and specificity were 79.6% and 79.6%.Conclusion:1.Red blood cell distribution width and platelet distribution width can be used as hematological screening indicators for gastric cancer, and can be used to distinguish patients with and without gastric cancer.2.Red blood cell distribution width and platelet distribution width used in routine blood tests have certain sensitivity and specificity as indicators of serologicalscreening for gastric cancer, among which the erythrocyte distribution width is relatively high in sensitivity and specificity for gastric cancer screening.3.Red blood cell distribution width and platelet distribution width as testparameters in routine blood tests are worthy of further study and discussion as serological screening indicators of gastric cancer, providing a new direction for the study of serological screening indicators of gastric cancer. |
