The Clinical Study Of Congenital Strabismus Surgery On Binocular Vision Reconstruction

Objective:To investigate the reconstruction of binocular vision in congenital strabismus patients.Methods:47 congenital strabismus patients who underwent strabismus surgery were collected,including 24 males and 23 females.29 cases were congenital esotropia and 18 cases were congenital exotropia.According to the age of the patients,congenital esotropia and exotropia were divided into groups of <2 years old(7/3 persons),2~5 years old(12/9 persons)and >5 years old(10/6 persons).47 cases of congenital strabismus patients were examined before operation and 1 year after operation respectively.Three degree binocular vision were tested by four-dot lamp,synoptophore,Titmus,TNO and pencil point test.Results: 35 patients(75%)had orthophoria after surgery,10 patients(21%)had 12~14PD undercorrection or overcorrection,and only 2 patients(4%)had secondary surgery due to 20 PD.15 patients recovered varying degrees binocular vision.(一)The number of congenital esotropia who got right position of eyes in each group were: <2 years old :4 cases(57%),2~5 years old:10cases(83%)and >5 years old:9 例(90%).The number of congenital esotropiawho had rebuilt varying degrees binocular vision in each group were:<2 years old :2 cases,2~5 years old:4 cases and >5 years old:2 cases.(二)The number of congenital exotropia who got right position of eyes in each group were: <2years old :2 cases(67%),2~5 years old:7 cases(78%)and >5 years old:5cases(83%).The number of congenital esotropia who had rebuilt varying degrees binocular vision in each group were: <2 years old :2 cases,2~5 years old:3 cases and >5 years old:2 cases.Conclusion:Strabismus surgery is helpful for the reconstruction of binocular vision,and there are also opportunities for partial binocular visual reconstruction in patients of all ages.
