| Backgrounds:With the increase of the incidence of infertility, the proportion of women getting pregnant through IVF-ET has increased year by year.Compared with women who conceive naturally, the incidence of gestational diabetes mellitus, macrosomia, cesarean section delivery, and adverse pregnancy outcomes,is much higher in women getting pregnant through IVF-ET.It is believed to be related with the level of physical activity during pregnancy. So far there is no relative research published. Therefore,it is of great significance to study the physical activity status during pregnancy and the potential influence factors in women conceiving through IVF-ET.Objective:To explore the status of physical activity of women conceiving through IVF-ET during pregnancy, that is the time spent on physical activity and the distribution of energy consumption, and to explore the potential influencing factors. Methods:Our research was a descriptive study, conducted by questionnaires and semi-structured interviews.A total of 120 pregnant women through IVF-ET in two hospitals in Beijing were investigated by finishing a self-designed questionnaire and a Danish self-administered scale.Semi-structured interviews were conducted in 10 of them.Results:(1)There was significant difference in the A level physical activity between women conceiving naturally and women getting pregnant through IVF-ET,while no significant differences were observed in other levels. The time of rest physical activity and mild physical activity reached 20.52 hours vs.23.24 hours in the middle pregnancy vs.the late pregnancy. The rest and mild physical activity occupied more than 95%time of the day, consuming 27.08 and 26.96 Mets*Hours, respectively, taking up more than 90%of all energy expenditure throughout the day.(2)The average energy expenditure during pregnancy was 29.41 Mets*Hours for women conceiving through IVF-ET.The time spent on physical activity was 8.59,7.63,4.90,2.17,0.68,0.05,0.02 and 0.01 hours in correspondence with level A to level H.Nobody attended the heavy physical activity. The energy consumption from level A to level H was 7.69,7.63,7.36,4.34,2.03,0.25,0.11,0.06Mets*Hours,without energy consumption through heavy physical activity.(3)Multivariate analysis showed that the number of fetus(standardized beta =-0.26,P=0.000),and the transplantation times(standardized beta =-0.45,P=0.000)significantly and negatively affected the physical activity during pregnancy. Conclusions:The level of physical activity is low in women conceiving through IVF-ET,mainly including the rest and mild physical activity, accounting for 95%of time during the day and 90%of the energy consumption. There is no significant difference in physical activity between the middle and late pregnancy, and the time on physical activity and the energy consumed decrease with the increase of activity level. The level of physical activity is negatively related to the number of fetus and transplantation times. The level of physical activity in women conceiving through IVF-ET is low in our country, and it is urgent to be paid attention to and to administer relevant nursing measures. |
