With the development of computer-aided medical diagnosis technology, digital data generated by Cone Beam Computed Tomography(CBCT)and Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI)has greatly promoted medical clinical applications. In digital dentistry, multimodality medical data registration can provide more information to help doctors better plan the treatment. This thesis has made broad research about this technology, and base on that, implemented a prototype system.Focusing on multimodal medical data registration, this thesis proposes three algorithms:registration between CBCT volume data and mesh data, registration between panoramic radiograph and mesh data, and registration of CBCT and MRI data.Firstly,in order to extract the tooth root,a hybrid registration algorithm of head CBCT data and crown mesh data is proposed. This algorithm combines the geometry descriptor and improved Iterative Closest Point(ICP)algorithm to avoid the non-convergence problem caused by the worse initialization.Secondly, for the registration between panoramic radiograph and mesh data,a panoramic simulation algorithm is proposed. It firstly creates a virtual radiograph from m esh data to align the real panoramic radiograph, and then obtains the 3D point of tooth root to repair the roots based on tooth templates.Thirdly,in order to get temporomandibular joints from MRI data,a multi-resolution registration algorithm based on mutual information is utilized to register CBCT and MRI data.Based on the proposed registration algorithms,a prototype system is developed through the modular design method and verified by real cases. |
