Objectives:To compare the efficacy of balanced electro-acupuncture and conventional electro-acupuncture in the treatment of subacromial impingement syndrome, and to verify that balanced electro-acupuncture was superior to conventional electro-acupuncture in the treatment of subacromial impingement syndrome.Methods:Ninety-two patients with subacromial impingement syndrome were randomized into the observation group and the control group,46 patients in each group. The two groups were treated with joint loosening. The observation group was treated with balanced electro-acupuncture on the basis of joint loosening, and the control group was treated with conventional electro-acupuncture on the basis of joint loosening.Visual Analogue Scale(VAS),Japanese Orthopaedic Association Scores(JOA),grading of subacromial impingement test and improvement of quality of life(QOL)were evaluated in two groups of patients before and after treatment.Balanced electro-acupuncture therapy and conventional electro-acupuncture once a day,10 times a treatment course,a total of 1 therapeutic effect,5 times a treatment followed by 2 days rest;Joint loosening was performed once 3 days and 4 times as a course. The patients assessed as cured, significantly effective and effective after the end of treatment were followed up for 1 month, and the statistical analysis and efficacy evaluation were performed using SPSS19.0 according to the data obtained.Results:1.After baseline comparison, there was no significant difference in gender, age and disease site between the two groups(P> 0.05),which were comparable; There was no significant difference in VAS score before treatment,JOA score of shoulderjoint, grading of subacromial impingement test and quality of life between the two groups(P> 0.05).2.After the end of treatment,VAS score,JOA score of shoulder joint, grading of subacromial impingement test and quality of life were compared between the two groups, and there were significant differences(P <0.05).Both treatment methods were effective.VAS score,JOA score of shoulder joint, grading of subacromial impingement test and quality of life were compared between the two groups. The observation group was superior to the control group(P <0.05).3.In the two groups, the cured, significantly effective and effective patients were followed up.During follow-up,the recurrence rate in the control group was higher than that in the observation group. Conclusion:Balanced electro-acupuncture therapy and conventional electro-acupuncture therapy can effectively improve the pain, the range of motion of subacromial impingement syndrome, and balanced electro-acupuncture therapy is superior to conventional electro-acupuncture therapy. Both therapies have good compliance and safety.
