ObjectiveTo investigate the status of family resilience and quality of life in cancer patients and their primary caregivers.To further explore the correlation between family resilience and quality of life.To help nurses identify the main factors affecting family resilience and quality of life of cancer patients,and to develop family-centered nursing to improve the stability of families and to further promote the quality of life of patients and their main caregivers.MethodsIn this study,we selected 173 cancer families from a third-class hospital in Dalian by convenient sampling method,the data collection tools included the self-designed general information questionnaire,Family Resilience Assessment Scale(FRAS)and Short Form36 Health Survey Questionnaire(SF-36)were used to investigate cancer patients and their primary caregivers.SPSS20.0 was used for data processing and analysis,including description analysis,t test,variance analysis,correlation analysis and multi-factor regression analysis.Results1.In this study,the total score of family resilience was(157.12±14.35),which was higher than domestic related studies(P<0.05).T-test and one-way ANOVA showed that religious beliefs,course of disease and family monthly income per capita could affect family resilience.2.The results showed that cancer patients scored the highest score in the field of Physical functioning(75.26±21.39)and the lowest in the field of Role emotional(34.75±18.79).T-test and one-way ANOVA showed that age,education,family monthlyincome per capita and course of disease could affect the quality of life of cancer patients(P<0.05).3.The scores of each dimension of quality of life of primary caregivers were lower than those of domestic norms,except for Role emotional and Bodily pain dimension,the difference was significant(P<0.05);t-test and one-way ANOVA showed that age,sex,occupation,self-care ability of patients,cumulative care time,chronic disease or not,and family monthly income per capita can affect the quality of life of the primary caregivers(P<0.05).4.The correlation analysis showed that there was a positive correlation between family resilience and quality of life in cancer patients and their primary caregivers.5.Multivariate regression analysis showed that cancer patients' belief,course of disease and family monthly income per capita were the influencing factors of family resilience level of cancer patients,accounting for 13.5% of the total variance.The cancer patients' age,course of disease,family monthly income per capita per and socio-economic resources and social function dimensions of the main caregivers were the important influencing factors of the quality of life of cancer patients,accounting for54.2% of the total variance.The primary caregivers' age,sex,chronic disease,family communication and problem solving,family connectivity and Vitality dimension of cancer patients were the important factors affecting the quality of life of the primary caregivers,accounting for 43.2% of the total variance.Conclusion1.The family resilience of cancer families was above middle level.While the cancer patients who had shorter illness,higher average monthly income of the family,that the family resilience was higher.2.There were pairwise correlation between both family resilience,cancer patients' quality of life with their primary caregivers' quality of life.3.Family resilience level of cancer patients can positively predict the quality of life of patients and their primary caregivers.Clinically,it can improve the level of familyresilience of cancer patients to promote the quality of life.
