Background:The 8th edition of AJCC gastric cancer TNM staging was released in2016,with a significant change from the 7thedition,with most of the changes focused on stage Ⅲ.Patients and Methods:From January 2002 to December 2012 in our hospital between parallel R0 treated 2552 cases of patients with gastric cancer,to develop into the standard,in the end, there are 1676 patients included in this study, including 746cases of patients with postoperative pathological for stage Ⅲ,selection and for version 7,8 edition of TNM staging into the analysis and comparison of samples. The single-factor and multifactor analysis of the prognosis of Ⅲ patients were carried out by Log-rank test and Cox proportional risk model respectively.Kaplan-meier survival curve was used to calculate the 5-year survival rate of each group. Results:For patients with stage Ⅲ gastric cancer, select LNs=30 as a cutoff value, but no matter LNs<30 or LNs≥30,8th staging system compared to 7th staging system, have higher C-index value and lower AIC value, showed better prognosis of stratification. Conclusion:The 8th edition of AJCC gastric cancer TNM staging system is superior to the 7thedition in terms of prognosis stratification, which can be used to predict the prognosis of patients with stage Ⅲ after R0 resection of gastric cancer, but further verification is needed.
