Objectives The purpose of this study is to compare the shear bond strength, microleakage situation and micromorphological characteristics of enamel-adhesive interface of etch-and-rinse adhesive system(Prime&Bond NT),self-etching adhesive system(two-component:ClearFil SE Bond)and universal adhesive system(two-component:Kerr Optibond Versa;single-component:3M Single Bond Universal)to enamel in order to provide some experimental evidences for clinical application. Methods 1 40 extracted human premolars were randomly divided into 4 groups,10 teeth included in each group.Different adhesive systems were treated on the enamel:Group A(Gluma,Prime&Bond NT),Group B(ClearFil SE Bond),Group C(Optibond Versa)and Group D(Single Bond Universal). The prepared 3M Filtek~TMM Z350-XT composite resin specimens were bonded to the enamel surface and then the shear strength was tested.2 64 extracted human premolars were randomly divided into 4 groups,16 teeth included in each group.A ClassⅤcavity was prepared respectively in each tooth at 1mm above the cemento-enamel junction.Different adhesive system:Prime&Bond NT(Group E),ClearFil SE Bond(Group F),Optibond Versa(Group G)and Single Bond Universal(Group H)was applied and 3M Filtek~TMM Z350-XT composite resin was filled into the cavity. After thermocycling and dye penetration for 24 h in 1%methylene blue solution, all teeth were cut in buccal-lingual direction and the depth of dye penetration was evaluated under a stereomicroscope.3 12 extracted human premolars were randomly divided into 4 groups,3 teeth included in each group.A block of composite resin of 3mm×2mm×2mm was bonded to the treated enamel surface of each teeth respectively with four adhesive systems:Prime&Bond NT(Group I),ClearFil SE Bond(Group J),Optibond Versa(Group K)andSingle BondUniversal(Group L),micromorphological characteristics of enamel-adhesive interface were observed by SEM.The data of shear bond strength and dye microleakage experiment were statistical analyzed. Results 1 Shear bond strength test:The shear bond strength of Group A(25.55±0.77Mpa)was the highest, the shear bond strength of Group C(20.47±0.83Mpa)was the second, the shear bond strength of Group B(17.21±1.44Mpa)was the third and the shear bond strength of Group D(16.58±1.17Mpa)was the lowest. The results of one-way ANOVA showed that there was significantly difference among the four groups(F=142.435,P<0.001).GroupAwashigherthantheotherthree groups(P<0.05),Group C was higher than Group B and Group D(P<0.05),There was no significant difference between Group B and Group D(P>0.05).2 Dye microleakage experiment:The marginal sealing situation was satisfying in the four groups(E,F,G,H),but no one could completely avoid it.There was no significant difference of microleakage among the four groups whether occulusal or gingival position(occlusalx~2=5.773,P>0.05;gingivalx~2=7.387,P>0.05),and no significant difference was shown by the pairwise comparison among four-groups of occlusal and gingival position.3micromorphological characteristics:The resin was combined tightly with enamel surface and good marginal sealing situation was abserved in the four groups(I,J,K,L).The resin tags were clear, big and dense in Group I,the resin tags in Group J were short and sparse, the resin tags were short and dense in Group K,while there is no obvious resin tag could be seen in Group L.Conclusions 1 The shear bond strength of etch-and-rinse adhesive system(Prime&Bond NT)was the highest, followed by two-component universal adhesive system(Kerr Optibond Versa),Single-component universal adhesive system(Single Bond Universal)and two-component self-etching adhesive system(ClearFil SE Bond)showed similar shear bond strength.2 All of the four Groups had a good marginal sealing situation, but no one could avoid microleakage.3 The resin was combined tightly with enamel surface and good marginal sealing situation was abserved in the four adhesive systems. The resin tags of etch-and-rinse adhesive system(Prime&Bond NT)were the clearest among the four groups. |
