A Review On Effect Of Common Traditional Chinese Medicine Nursing Auricular Acupressure Therapy For Patients With Constipation

Objective:To evaluate the effect of auricular acupressure technology of the traditional Chinese medicine nursing in the organic constipation and the functional constipation,further standardize auricular acupressure technology,in order to provide scientific evidence for nursing technology popularization and application of traditional Chinese medicine.Methods:According to the method of evidence-based medicine,we searched the CBM,CNKI,WANFANG DATA,VIP,Cochrane Library,JBI evidence-based health care,Medline,PubMed for randomized controlled trials of auricular acupressure.To evaluate the quality of included studies with the bias risk assessment of the Cochrane handbook 5.1.0,and Meta-analysis was performed by using the RevMan5.3 software.The relative risk(RR)was used for the classification variables and the weighted means difference(WMD)was used for the continuous variable.Both of them were analyzed by 95%confidence interval.The?~2test was used for the heterogeneity test of the included studies,and several studies on homogeneity could be polled by using the fixed effect model for analysis.The heterogeneity of the study was large,and the randomized effect model was used for the meta-analysis without clinical heterogeneity and methodological heterogeneity.If heterogeneity was not determined,meta-analysis was abandoned and descriptive research was used.Results:The total of 94 randomized controlled trials were included.There were 67 studies about the organic constipation and 27 studies about the functional constipation.For the Organic constipation,Meta analysis showed that in the aspect of clinical effective rate and adverse reactions,auricular acupressure or auricular acupressure combine with other measures(umbilical compression with traditional Chinese medicine,abdominal massage,oral cathartic)was superior to the usual care or oral cathartic;a descriptive analysis of the symptom score and quality of life of constipation showed that the auricular acupressure could improve the symptom score and the quality of life of the patients.For the Functional constipation,Meta analysis showed that the effective rate of auricular acupressure and auricular acupressure combine with other measures(oral cathartic,catgut implantation)is superior to the usual care or oral cathartic;the results of descriptive analysis of symptom scores,adverse reactions and quality of life showed that the auricular acupressure can improve the symptom scores of the constipation,reduce the occurrence of adverse reactions and improve the quality of life of the patients with constipation.At the same time,the study found that the commonly selected acupoints for the treatment of constipation:Large intestine,Rectum,Spleen,San Jiao,Lung,Stomach and Subcortex.Conclusion:Auricular acupressure can be applied for the treatment of constipation with good effect,and improve the quality of life.With low adverse reaction,auricular acupressure has high safety and worthy of clinical promotion.Because of the low quality of trials,more randomized controlled trials with high quality will be required to standardize manipulations of auricular acupressure in order to provide evidence.
