Objective:To detect serum LRG1 levels in patients with coronary heart disease(CAD),and to explore whether LRG1 plasma levels predict a future diagnosis of chronic heart failure(CHF)in patients with coronaryartery disease(CAD).Methods:① The study included consecutive patients with coronaryartery disease presenting to the Cardiology Department of Yanbian Hospital from January I,2013 to December 31,2013.CAD was assessed in those patients who underwent coronary angiography. The patients with CAD were classified into two groups:chronic heart failure group and non heart failure group.② Healthy adults(total 88;44 males,44 females;average age,56.4±6.3 years)were enrolled in this study.Following overnight fasting, whole blood samples were drawn from the subjects.Samples from the CAD group were collected immediately prior to PCI.Serum levels of NT-proBNP and LRGI were measured by ELISA kit.Continuous variables are expressed as mean±SD and categorical variables are reported in percentages.Statistical intergroup differences were analyzed by the chi-square test,one-way ANOVA,and the t test.Correlation between the two parameters was determined by simple linear regression analysis.A value of p<0.05 was considered to be significant.Results:①Plasma levels of LRG1 were significantly higher in heart failure group, compared to the control group(P=0.001).② Compared with healthy adults group, chronic heart failure patients and non heart failure patients had significantly increased LRGI concentrations(P<0.001).③ Positive correlation between LRGI levels and age has been confirmed(r=0.280,P<0.001,n=178),according to gender to divide groups, the level of serum LRG1 was no significant difference.④ Positive correlation between LRG1 levels and NT-proBNP has been confirmed(r=0.257,P=0.001,n=178),negative correlation between LRG1 levels and LVEF has been confirmed(r=-0.217,P=0.008,n=178),positive correlation between LRG1 levels and the creatinine and uric acid has been confirmed(r=0.192,P=0.010,n=178;r=0.310,P<0.001,n=178).The systolic pressure, diastolic blood pressure, bloodglucose, total cholesterol,triglycerides,HDL-C,LDL-C and body mass index.were no associated with serum LRG1.⑤The area under the ROC curve for LRG1 was 0.663,95%CI from 0.58 to 0.74,P=0.003,the cut-off value was 217.19,the specificity was 82%.The area under the ROC curve for NT-proBNP was 0.89,95%Cl from 0.84 to 0.94,P<0.001,the cut-off value is 89.89,the specificity was 88.8%.Conclusion:①Chronic heart failure(CHF)in patients with coronary artery disease(CAD),serum LRG1 levels significantly increase.② The relationship between serum LRG1 levels and NYHA functional class.③ Although LRG1 distinguish the performance of CHF was worse than NT-proBNP,but the specificity of LRG1 was higher than NT-proBNP.
