Objective Using 3-D finite element simulation to investigate the angle infuences of acetabular prosthesis on reconstructed hip stability for patient with hip joint dysplasia after the total hip arthroplasty(THA),to provide some clinical guides and biomechanical criterions for surgery. Methods Applying computer related technology to deal with the multi-slice spiral CT scan data of a patient with hip joint dysplasia, reconstruct a high quality patient specific 3-D finite element model of the hip bone.Following, the acetabular prosthesis was integrated at the true acetabular position with abduction angle of 45° and anteversion angle 0° or 15° or 30° and anteversion angle of 150 and abduction angle 3° or 45 ° or 60°.At last, the mechanics analysis tool was used to analyze the 5 set of three-dimensional modelsResults Compared with the standard model whose abduction angle is 45° and anteversion angle 15°,no matter the abduction angle is 30° or 60°,as well as the anteversion angle is 0°,the resulting stesses would increase very rapidly, some stress concentration and prosthesis loosen exist, which is agree with previous research results. While, when the anteversion angle is 30°,the resulting stesses are similar or even more smaller than the stand standard setting. Conclusion When the THA is done for the patient with DDH,the abduction angle of acetabular prosthesis should be 45° as possible, but, the anteversion angle could be little bigger than standard setting,to provide better functinal repair and stability for hip joint.
